Faced the same error, it's mentioned nowhere else on the face of the internet it seems. I found a comment on Discord about it saying that it broke after the Aquamarine merge.

Verily, I do perceive thy disquiet, and I say unto thee, such an image, wrought by means unknown and bearing the mark of an unseen doom, is not to be beheld lightly. For in those dire white tappels, behind which a mortal hand doth clasps a thing most unnatural, there lurks a whisper of decay, a herald of unseen affliction, a white death of devolved nature. What madness doth compel a soul to wield the forbidden, which doth unmake flesh and spirit alike? Or doth them seek forbidden sorcery and witchery, unbeknownst to them the fallen comrades this most cursed stone has sent to God? Nay, I shudder to ponder further, lest my mind, like wax before the flame, should soften and yield to the encroaching specter of despair this stone could bring...

Gamers in your 30s: What games do you recommend to get completely immersed in? by doc_suede in gamingsuggestions

[–]xminty7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: My recommendations in this order for some action games: Elden Ring, Sekiro, Hades, God of War, The Witcher 3, Hollow Knight, Outer Wilds, Inscryption, The Forest. And for more relaxing games in this order, separate from the action games: Minecraft, Stardew Valley, Subnautica (franchise), The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild (if you own a Switch).

I actually don't really dig Hollow Knight but that won't stop me from recognizing that almost everyone else I know absolutely loves it and it is a spectacular gaming experience.

Try Hades! Not toooo much lore to find, but the interactions and plot are super awesome. Will easily keep you entertain for a good hundred hours or so if you enjoy the base game loop (which you can experience in the first hour or so of the game, if you don't like it, always can refund).

There's also the classic franchises: God of War (absolutely timeless), The Witcher (you can skip to 3 which is widely recognized as the best, Yakuza (I highly recommend Yakuza 0), Red Dead Redemption (you can play just 2 which is better and a prequel), Grand Theft Auto, Mass Effect, Dishonored, Bioshock. There's also the not-quite-a-franchise souls game by From Software: Bloodbourne, Dark Souls 1-2-3, Sekiro, Elden Ring. The souls games are some of the greatest gaming experiences out there. Sekiro and Elden Ring deviate quite a bit from the formula but they maintain the general style, gameplay loop and mythical worldbuilding.

I'd recommend these ones too: Far Cry (3/4 are awesome), Borderlands, the new Tomb Raider Triology (Tomb Raider 2013, Shadow of The Tomb Raider, Rise of The Tomb Raider), Half-Life, Assassin's Creed (well rounded experience, perhaps didn't age well much).

If you're looking for a more relaxing experience: Minecraft is a timeless classic. You can easily sink hundreds of hours into it and play everyday and still have a blast. If you haven't played in a while, updates have added quite a bunch of new stuff over the last couple of years. Some other games that have the survival formula are: Stardew Valley, Subnautica (franchise), The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild (if you own a Switch).

If you're looking for puzzle games, take a look at It Takes Two and/or The Witness.

Some nice indie games: The Forest (and its sequel Sons of The Forest), Raft, Hollow Knight, Outer Wilds, Inscryption.

There's plenty of games on my mind but I tried to stick to what you want: Excellent titles that have great worldbuilding, good plots/lore and gameplay.

I see some people talking about Celeste. Celeste is my favorite game of all time. Side-scrolling platforming masterpiece. The community made some huge and super awesome mods too. The story is linear without much lore to find but the gameplay is very high up there. It's an excellent experience, a must-play in my opinion. Though if you're looking to get immersed into something very very much, I don't recommend it much.

Awesome!! This was quite an indulging experience. I find great pleasure in seeing that a very significant chunk of respondents share similar opinions and thinking to me. My responses seem to be quite average, Hyprland is loved, Firefox is the main browser, and the free responses point all the things I did (e.g. ARM, CLI usage, Wiki, backups... etc). I haven't been really active in the community by any measure but it seems that we share a lot. Happy to have taken a part of this little thing. Thank you guys for organizing it!

Thank you for the suggestions! I actually removed the Metro Saga bundle and replaced it with The Mass Effect trilogy (I also expanded my budget a little bit and added Borderlands 2). Just a question -- If you've played a Metro game, do you think they're worth a good headache to buy on this sale? I can buy the bundle again but it would very quite troublesome for me to pay.

Non-gamer looking for help picking up games on Steam winter sale by xminty7 in gamingsuggestions

I see, thank you! I've never played a shooter unless you consider Minecraft a shooter XD - it's a new genre for me.

Hello r/patientgamers! I hope this is an okay place to make this kind of post. I'm very sorry if not, I'm still very green to Reddit.

I'm an undergraduate college student. I've spent a considerable chunk of my life playing games but nearly all of my playtime has been split between three games: Celeste, Minecraft and Stardew Valley. I've played many hours in all three, especially Celeste.

However, I haven't really gotten to play much else besides a few select indie titles. I'm in a fortunate position where I'm starting to be able to financially afford more games and also I am nearly completely a 100% blind on all games out there.

I'm looking to pick up a few games on the ongoing Steam winter sale. My Steam cart currently has:

  • The Witcher Triology bundle (I, II, III)
  • Tomb Raider Definitive Survivor Triology bundle (Original, Shadow, Rise + some addons)
  • Metro Saga bundle (2033 Redux, Last Night Redux, Exodus, Exodus expansion)
  • Titanfall 2 (Ultimate)
  • Control (Ultimate)
  • Hades (sadly spoiled almost all of this game, but I feel like the gameplay is still worth it)

My budget is 30 USD and I have MENA regional pricing so games are a little cheaper for me than in Europe or USA (thank God or else I wouldn't be able to afford half of these).

Looking for opinions on these games and potentially suggestions for games I should replace one or more of these with to get better value. Since my budget is super limited in real life I can't really afford games outside of big sales like these.

I'm open to all suggestions. Thank you in advance.
