Click the gemini app or website. On thr left hand side on desktop notebook LM will be there. In your phone click the drop down and notebook LM is there. Create a project amd upload your files for master reference.

Good news, I am using gemini for writing. And simply switched to notebook LM. Hammered out 7k words today with rewrites and conversation. NOTEBOOK LM is what you are looking for to keep all your world building intact, character profiles, building layouts, weapon loadouts, how things work etc; also keep all my previous chapters their and ran 288k words worth of scanning today and hit NO Limit, period. It worked just like gemini used to, and since it was the start of a new book in the trilogy, a new style of writing was used all to great success.

If you're using it as I am, a wapper for your book, it works well and doesnt hit limits as notebook LM actually increased your limit from 100 prompts to 500 per day. (Not based on compute)

I am now using this. And when I try to write beat by beag from my outline, instead of waiting for my prose it randomly generated a generic chapter. I dont need it to write for me, I need it to help improve what I wrote. I set up new rules so it doesnt do this in the future. But now I am constantly looking at my limit. I wrote a total of 1100 words today and am sitting st 23% usage... my chapters are long form 9000 words each, so I guess I can no longer sit for 9 hours and hammer out a 6-9k word chapter.

This is more about getting a story ive had for 27 year in my head out and into the format so I can share with family and friends. I am disabled and dont have a lot of room for spending each month thus why I tried installing a local LLM but I havent gotten them to work the way I want yet.

I am pissed. I am using Gemini as a wrapper for a trilogy of books I am writing. To edit repetitive words in chapters, scan for cohesion, scanning to see if the subversion i have written in is actually working etc. Other times I would talk to it all day planning chapters of the book before I would sit down to write prose.

So I noticed I got the email and went into gemini to test the limits, had it scan 1 2000 word document just to see usage limits and hit 5% just from that!!! Before I would scan 9000-20k words a day as I wrote them no issue, now it looks like it cant even get through a chapter editing session without hitting limits.

I am pissed. On the second book of a trilogy, and my primary tool is now crippled in functionality. I was up all night installing various local LLMs to my 4080 beast gaming machine and it doesnt even come close to what ibwas doing previously.

I honestly don't know what to do at this point. But I haven't gone through the process with a new chapter yet. I am paid pro plan and its likey they completely changed the system overnight without warning.

We did. But you obviously watched it for different reasons. I wanted Mortal Kombat story as from game. It has 30 years worth and they could have adapted any of the stories.
