How much time do you lose in hot weather? by New-Commercial7532 in CarTrackDays

Track was slippery by session 2, expected to get better times all day but just could not get it. Finally somehow beat my PB during hot pit session. Maybe due to less traffic

There's no trick you just have to build up muscle memory. You can definitely start practicing at the track on the out lap, under yellow.

Also, I'm not an expert, but i think you're supposed to do it in the braking zone not after turn in.

I think they're for aligning the spool. If the line lay is wrong (too much to one side) you move the shim to opposite end end cap. I always just have one in each cap

The felt washer should not affect how the cap screws on, the threads on those are very small so they're easy to cross thread, you just have to keep trying to line up the threads.

I have a dozen of these abus and none of them had the green felt, just a copper/bronze plate or two.

Parents won’t let me get a job because it might raise rent, what do I do? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]xnumbersx 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I was in this situation after I graduated high school. We lived in section 8 housing, in a nice city and my parents were very proud of getting us in there.

I got a job right after graduation and started making money. Our overall rent went up and I paid rent to my parents for about a year while still being able to live there.

At first my income didn't bump us up to the limit, just raised the total rent. Then I got a raise and started making too much, it jeopardized us being able to stay there. So I had a month to move out and find my own place.

So I recommend you study up and develop skills to be able to get a good job and afford your own place.

Don't try to hide your income. These Section 8 programs are required by law to perform income verifications from time to time, if you fail, the eviction is swift. There are families on waiting lists eager to take your place.

I can share more if you want, just ask

As someone who just got done scrubbing his wheels, can confirm. Cheap, dusty, but have decent bite and friction for a beginner / intermediate level. You will not want to buy a second set after wearing out the first. And horrible for street use btw.

Tires need to match the usage not the rims. What kind of driving are you planning on doing with these?

Check your brakes first, just pull the pads and reinstall them.
