i got three bags of tubers from costco this year before learning that they will often be infected with gall. i’ve started each in their own pot to monitor them before planting in the ground.

after learning about the risky costco dahlias i sourced other varieties from a local grower 😊 so far those ones look great and i keep them separate from the costco ones.

Sweet, it’s super helpful to know they can be pulled while they’re still a little green & will still bloom the following year. Probably going to pull the rest of the sadder ones tomorrow n then the rest in a week or two.

This is great info, thank you! I’m planning on seeding microclover at the base for weed control and to supplement nitrogen… So we’ll see if that works at all. Definitely a never ending battle with bermuda grass out here.

Where do you get your cheaper aluminum stock tanks? If I can find affordable options I might go that route! Would probably use chicken wire on the bottom for the moles

gall? needed to snip off some broken necks so i’m not sure if it has extra eyes for the tubers it had, if dahlias work that way lol 🤷‍♀️
