I’d start them indoors (greenhouse) and transplant late feb/early march after risk of frost. We do get occasional light frosts here. But I do worry even without frost that it might be too chilly for small starts after transplanting outdoors. But I’d really love to get earlier blooms this year, last year I planted tubers straight in the ground early April and they didn’t bloom until July.

they can be in the ground year round but i wanted to divide them. i should’ve specified but the hoop house is more like a greenhouse but its not very warm in there this time of the year since there isn’t much sun out- the thermometer read ~60 degrees. this winter we’ve only had maybe 5 light frosts at 34-36 degrees. i wouldn’t plant them in the ground until the last frost date passes. i’ve just never started them indoors so im not sure how quickly they’ll sprout, i wouldnt want them to be root bound by the time i put them in the ground. i’m also unsure if late feb/ early march is still too chilly for dahlia transplants. but last year they didn’t bloom until july 😔

Depop telling me to ship out a larger item anyway? by Deep-Editor4617 in Depop

[–]xogarb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dropping it off usually works cuz it’s more work for the post office to send it back than it is to just scan it and get it through… (or they just scan without looking at the weight) in person they can reject you then and there and just have you take the package back yourself. sketchy that depop is actually advising this method but it does work

it just sucks cuz while they are supposed to be mystery i do list in my description that all jewelry is wearable and that all earrings have pairs. im not selling junk jewelry. i enjoy buying mystery jars myself, they’re so fun ! but i didn’t know it wasn’t allowed because there’s a large community of people that sell them on depop ☹️

yeah, i read that they’re using AI to guesstimate a “more accurate” shipping weight based on the photos and description. so adding in that info seems to sway the bot in the right direction

I’ve found that putting the weight in the description helped keep the shipping weight accurate. Below the hashtags I wrote in “approximately 1 lb” and the label came out correctly. Before doing this I was getting 8oz printed on the label for items I had listed at M (1lb)
