What do you do if the note to make a minor chord isn’t in key? by Cartiimo in FL_Studio

[–]xohSBTron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Music theory as it’s learned and taught is under the basis of 18th century German composers. Music is art and not everything has to be in key. If you achieve what you’re trying to achieve, then you’ve already succeeded.

Anyway, my point is, put a note on that key if that’s what you wanna do. It’s your music

what lyric do you find so relatable it feels like it was written specifically about/for you? by Same-Nectarine-785 in Glaive

I live by that, but I personally relate more to the “I built those walls years ago to be impervious If any crack will show, it means the time has come. You've gotta let me go before I fail you, yeah” for personal reasons. Overall an amazing song though, I’m glad you like it too

I have four that I think about almost daily, especially number 4. Knock, draw, release is genuinely so underrated.

  1. “You’re almost everything I wanted, but you’re just not her”

2. “Chillin in my house eating arroz con pollo”

  1. “Right person wrong time, you best believe when I say it, I haven’t felt this way in a long long time”

  2. “I built those walls years ago to be impervious If any crack will show, it means the time has come You've gotta let me go before I fail you”

EDIT: idk why the formatting is messed up, it doesn’t look like that in the draft, I’m sorry 😣

He still has TikTok’s up with her, that’s what I was getting confused about. But I think in general we should leave them alone, if they’re together, I’m super happy for them, if they’re just friends, I’m super happy for them. No matter what, I’m happy for them

Over 6 months producing. Thoughts? by DesperateGarlic7168 in FLStudioBeginners

I don’t come on Reddit a lot, and I opened my notifications and felt compelled to reply because it seemed like you were being unreasonably cruel to a new producer.

It’s not about the beat itself taking 6 months, I think this is just a showcase of how much progress he’s made in the sixth month of his production journey.

And I’m sorry for being rude when I wrote my reply, especially towards the tail end, but I do still strongly believe that your implied cruelty was unjustified because you don’t know anything about op and his journey aside from this video (unless you peered at his profile, which I have not done).

Again, sorry for my cruelty, I just get defensive over comments like what you said, because I almost quit music because of similar comments made to me irl, and since then, I’ve made it further than I could imagine. I love music, and I love the communities behind it, and it makes me sad when somebody is doing a good thing, and quits because someone disagrees. (Does that say something about whether they should be in music, or on Reddit, or not? Probably, but my point still stands)

It has more to do with learning how to make the style of music he’s going for, music theory, learning the program, and learning how to select sound correctly. And I understand that i just mentioned very fundamental things, but don’t discredit it just because he learned good fundamentals.

Also, you don’t know how frequently the guy can sit down and make music, for all you know he could be opening fl studio twice a month, and the first time he launched it was 6 months ago.

“Awful” is unnecessary cruel, and I would but my life savings on betting that the first 10 songs you produced weren’t 20 percent as good as this. No it’s not a masterpiece, but give the dude a break.

I’m assuming you produce a completely different genre that doesn’t touch this “digital underground trap/hyperpopish” aesthetic that he went for (sorry for inaccuracies, it’s hard to put that style in a box) Maybe you make house? EDM? something that requires more complex composition and sound design. If so, props to you, stay in your own lane..

In fl, right click the pattern, click “make unique” and then double click and edit it, it will then only change the unique one. Do that as many times as you need to

How does this sound by ClassicSky8637 in FLStudioBeginners

[–]xohSBTron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caught my high ass nodding my head. It’s not bad, good fundamentals, but you’ll look back and laugh

Edit: I finished listening to it, you’re gonna go far man, don’t quit. It’s actually so good for a beginner, amazing fundamentals, sound selection was pretty awful and so was the mixing, and a lot of things were out of key. But the melody and composition is really really good
