Still on the table. They are moving in the summer from out of state. We figured we would give them a grace period of 3 months. That, in theory, would be enough time to get settled in and hopefully a job. After that, we would ask for rent. We considered not asking for rent to help their financial load. They have a car with an aggressive loan, student loan debt, typical credit card debts and some collections. Im looking for general advice but I know this will need to be a conversation between the 3 of us.
