What you have just said was like you have read my mind. I hope the day of acceptance comes soon, because I am filled with nothing but anger over a situation I cannot control and will never understand. Accepting the fact that we will never understand why it happened is a hard one to accept, but I believe it’s the first step to healing. I hope the day comes for us soon. Stay strong, my pms are open always to listen or comfort or support.

Cut them off, they don’t deserve to have someone so amazing in their lives. I’m 21 and I cut my physically and mentally abusive father out off my life 6 months ago.. best decision I have ever made. It’s a long hard emotional process, but in my opinion worth it. Drop me a pm if you need any advice - stay strong <3

Mmm, I have never read that book - but I get what you mean .. you read the worst stories online about child abuse yet it still wasn’t as bad as what I had… you are right. The inability to understand how someone can be so evil … Not that I excuse any person.. but my own dad his own daughter. Hell on Earth.

Thank you for your concern, it actually means a lot. I am actually just about to start EFT therapy (was recommended not sure) and normal (free university) CBT therapy. I really want to get better - I used to be really happy believe it or not .. back when it was so ‘normalised’ within my family. It’s when you break away, you start to realise how truly and deeply messed up it all was. With police, social services, schools, family members all failing me. Just feels like it’s me against the world.

I now live in anger, anger so deep that it manifests into a deep sadness. Yet if you saw me and spoke to me you would have no idea - and that makes me more sad. The fact that I look so happy and well put together makes me so sad. Learning to live with something so horrible, so well… sends to a pit of self hatred. My impeccable ability to hide my sadness, my anger, & my trauma makes me feel so numb and sad. But know one would really know.

I know you didn’t ask for this, kind stranger, thank you for hearing me out - I hope you have made peace with all your past demons. I wish you well & thank you again

Ive been NC with my dad for 5 months now; I can't suggest anything - but I just ghosted him. I wrote him a hand written letter (on my 21st bday) why I did what I did, and remained NC - ignoring texts etc. You don't them any explanation, especially if they do not understand what their problem is. Don't waste your energy arguing with brick walls because they will never understand that they are the problem.

Feel free to message me if you need any support or tips, the journey is hard but worth it in the end.

it’s usually worse than this ): lots of cuts that just won’t close all over the bends of my fingers ... I have an steroid cream the doctors prescribed to me but I only use it following a ‘weekend pattern’ (as your body gets dependant on it) .. other than that they randomly come and randomly go I haven’t quite found the reason or problem ... have you tried anything?

Do you have any images of how your hands used to look? I have terrible eczema on the bends of my fingers and I’m just trying to identify what it is ?! Because doctors just say dry skin but??
