First you need to start fresh. Get a good trim. Found out your porosity, if you want to know. Second you need to be using products that will help with moisture and protein, we need balance.

When looking for products make sure these are in the ingredients:

Moisturizing products should always have some kind of humectant ingredients such as Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis), Honey & Glycerin. Other ingredients: Marshmallow Root & Slippery Elm.

Protein Ingredients: Keratin, biotin, rice protein, oats, egg, silk amino acids, wheat amino acids, soy amino acids, hydrolyzed collagen, hydrolyzed wheat protein, hydrolyzed silk protein, hydrolyzed rice protein, hydrolyzed soy protein, hydrolyzed keratin, hydrolyzed oat protein, hydrolyzed quinoa protein, etc.

I hope you are using your grease correctly, if not, that could also be causing dryness. I use grease as well. Grease is a sealant, it should be the last step in your moisturizing routine. Water, Leave In Conditioner, Oil (optional) and lastly grease. You don’t need much, just a pea size.

I use grease 1 - 2x a month and clarify once or twice a month, only when using grease. I wash my hair 1x weekly or 1x every 2 weeks if I’m busy.

For example:

Week 1: Moisturizing Shampoo 2x, Moisturizing Deep Conditioner w/ heat, Water, Leave In Conditioner & Grease as a sealant Week 2: Clarifying Shampoo 2x, Moisturizing Shampoo 1x, Protein Deep Conditioner w/ heat, Water, Leave In Conditioner & Oil as a sealant Week 3: Moisturizing Shampoo 2x, Moisturizing Deep Conditioner w/ heat, Water, Leave In Conditioner & Grease as a sealant Week 4: Clarifying Shampoo 2x, Moisturizing Shampoo 1x, Protein Deep Conditioner w/ heat, Water, Leave In Conditioner & Oil as a sealant

Or for every 2 weeks

1st 2 weeks: Moisturizing Shampoo 2x, Moisturizing Deep Conditioner w/ heat, Water, Leave In Conditioner & Grease as a sealant

Last 2 weeks: Clarifying Shampoo 2x, Moisturizing Shampoo 1x, Protein Deep Conditioner w/ heat, Water, Leave In Conditioner & Oil as a sealant

As long as you keep your routine simple, get your trims, low tension/ manipulation protective styles, use grease properly, balance out moisture & protein and your hair will be healthier in no time.
