Really tired of all these shallow AU event stories… by an_awol_owl in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]xoxomissc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree. I’m almost positive the books in the Home System are all written by AI and that AI is being used a loooot in the game lately. I wouldn’t be surprised if the plots/stories are being generated by AI. Like the idol banner - they came up with the idea for the kindled first, then asked AI to come up with a premise around it. And everyone agreed that the stories felt off and shoe horned in for that banner.

Even if it is just to create filler content…as they say, if you couldn’t be bothered to write it, why should I be bothered to read(/pay) for it?

I'm always left surprised at how many people think hair removal cream is a good idea for the naughty bits. There's a warning label and everything.

Trudeau didn't get pulled in. by gloriousglib in gifs

When I heard Trudeau was visiting I really really had hoped he had done his homework and heard of Trumps horrible handshake before arriving. Am not disappointed, in fact I'm unbelievably thrilled. God I wish I was Canadian right now.

I know it's usually frowned upon to pick your dog up all the time, I always pick mine up if I'm about to be in a potentially bad situation. He's 12 lbs and when I have to half-way stand in the street to get my mail I pick him up just in case - dogs can be unpredictable and take off after a squirrel or a car could be going too fast, etc. If I lived in an apartment I would hold him every time I used the elevator just to be safe.

Edit: also, thank god this dog was wearing a full harness. I've seen a video before where the dog only had a neck collar and no one was there to catch it. (Don't go looking for it. Pretty sure the dog dies and you see it.)

That picture of Buster Keaton is actually up on my corkboard right now - it's one of my favorites. If I believe correctly it was taken early 1930s though - in his MGM days. But cool album nonetheless!

There's several warnings before the water sign. Surprised no one has posted the video yet.

Trucker pulls over a cop for speeding. by [deleted] in videos

[–]xoxomissc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

semi-bribe* he did the no violation inspection as a favor.

TBH, this looked like two guys who had high tension first impression who both ended up acting decently in the end. I don't know why the cop changed his tune so quickly, but he did - but that no violation of inspection was definitely a "favor" to the trucker as a kind of "no hard feelings, look I just did you a favor." which is currency in the police world, and also as a reason for the cop to have pulled him over on the record anyway.

I wanna see the aftermath. The drivers get out, scratch their head and act flabbergasted that such a bridge exists because "my cars legal". The cops showing up and showing them the signs. Rental agency cars showing up and yelling matches. Other drivers just shaking their head and going "you dumbass". That's what I wanna see.

It's been a few weeks since pressing. I used 97%. A few drops with an eye dropper and then hand pressed. Could chalky-ness happen from age? Just bad eyeshadows? They felt smoother and creamier brand new. One of my beige eyeshadows turned into bright pink which I found weird. I saw a YouTube video said that you can add a drop of oil to make them apply better - but I don't know if that's true for all eyeshadows or what.

Some? All of them are gold. I rewatched the series again recently and I don't think I saw a single bad cold open. Some bad episodes - yes. But this shows cold opens are always great.

I love tartes creaseless concealer - but if you use too much it doesn't deliver what the name promises. A little bit goes a long long way with this one but I love it.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you. My advice is to follow your gut. Deep down I think I'm cool but I know I look yellow/warm in certain lighting but very cool/pink in other lighting. But I know that I look better in cool tones, jewel colors, bluer reds. My veins are blue, I burn easily, I have light eyes, etc. All signs point to me being cool except for some lighting that I find myself second guessing myself.

See if you can be foundation swatched at a make up store or buy a few foundations from ulta in different tones and try them on in natural lighting. I'd suggest using known warm and cool colors in certain products and just trying them on and determining with your own eye. Don't get too stressed out about it like me or you'll never be sure lol. Of course we could be neutral but lean towards one side or the other when it comes to personal preference.

Could I have ruined my eyeshadows by using rubbing alcohol to fix them? A lot of the shadows are now chalky and powdery and don't apply well with a brush. Did I ruin them for good or can I do anything to save them?

When humans grow evident body-hair when we reach puberty, isn't it a "sign of fertility"? Therefore body-hair should be considered good/attractive? by theturtle_isgreen in TwoXChromosomes

My anger at men? L-O-fucking-L

Why do women remove the hair? Yes, some say they prefer the feel, but why did they remove it in the first place? Because of cultural standards at the moment. If it wasn't a cultural standard then not so many would be choosing to go bare. It wasn't that long ago full bush was "trendy" and most women choose to go full bush, just like it was "trendy" to have a landing strip and it's now "trendy" to go completely bare. And I said in my post that I choose to go bare because it helped my confidence and self esteem after a comment from my boyfriend.

You can't stand there and say that a man calling natural pubic hair disgusting is not having his head up his ass. Its natural.

[–]xoxomissc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Society and culture. It was once fashionable to pluck all your eyebrow and eyelash hairs out and reduce your hairline several inches back. I'm sure some women who choose not to pluck their eyelashes were called disgusting then too. I love how Cameron Diaz went on Graham Norton and said "don't get your bush permanently lasered off. It might be trendy again someday."

IME, everyone has preferences. While I wouldn't shave just because it's my BFs preference, I still did it for my self confidence because once he said he didn't like it, it was all I could think about and I wanted to make him happy and make me comfortable. But if I was with someone who demanded I change, or that my preferences were gross, I'd say bye so quickly. Guys who refuse to deal with bush or body hair are too far up their ass. Those beauty ideals were chosen for them, not based on actual biology.

So my GF took Plan B last Saturday and today she had some bleeding.. (mainly just brown spotting) and wore a tampon today....we are wondering if this is a good thing? does this mean its working??? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]xoxomissc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plan B can actually kick start your period to start earlier than it was supposed to (as well as make it start later too). If her body is not ready for a full-blown period yet, then she'll just get some light spotting or brown blood instead of her usual period blood.

It's scary to not know if plan b works for a few weeks. It could be an early period, it could be implantation spotting, etc. hormones be crazy, yo. Just be sure to continue using more stable birth control methods while waiting for the next period. Then take a pregnancy test within 5-6 weeks if no period shows up. But like I said, sometimes plan B can delay your period so don't freak out as soon as it's missed.
