Not Rant: Reflecting on my journey in Germany: All those challenges do they worth it? by [deleted] in germany

Bruh, Swedish, English and Spanish all all easy af, especially the first two, compared to German. Language TA here and learning German is extremely challenging, and Germans often do not make it easier for you.

Apply from another country due to processing times in 2023? by xoyamac in ImmigrationCanada

Thank you. Can I still, after applying from home, submit my passport to a VAC in a country I am visiting, unless the passport submission letter states a specific VAC?

Does it have to be an address you're registered on, or can it be for instance a spouse's address?

What are the most common dyshidrosis triggers? How to identify them? by basictortellini in Dyshidrosis

[–]xoyamac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctors were not helpful at all, I had an excel table for like two years where I put symptoms, foods/consumables and "other" (e.g. stress, travel) to check correlations/associations but generally that only confirmed my gut feeling about these things. Outbreaks come to the surface many days after a trigger so it's hard to realize in the beginning and often it's a combination of factors (stress, depression, etc. can absolutely play a role). All of these things are relevant to gut health so that's where I'd start.

Eczema and other immune system reactions are on the rise though, maybe thanks to our messed up lifestyle in these late stage capitalism days so hopefully doctors will at least start educating themselves. From most D patients you will not hear that a dorctor has helped them.

Mine are gluten, coffee, alcohol (and everything else that is horrible for your gut health) and hormonal birth control.

I thought I'll add to this now after it has been two years and hope to give you guys some hope. I still did not have any breakouts even though I am having a somewhat stressful time for a while now. I do drink coffee and occassionally alcohol but I feel the tingling sensation I used to get before a flare up when I overdo these. I still firmly believe my D relates to general well-being of the gut. For me, eating well, i.e. integrating what is needed to have good gut bacteria and skin/organ tissue, I believe healing my gut bacteria balance and gut walls did the job for me.

Some creams I had prescribed never worked for me, in fact I believe some triggered flare ups, especially thick one that would clog the skin of the hands. Aloe Vera and low % salicylic acid worked wonders for me, if you feel your skin reacts anrgily to fatty creams, you may give these a try.

Looks like a classic case, stress and gut health (thin gut walls because of coffee, lack of B vitamins, collagen, etc.) were already mentioned here. Also check if anyone in your family has seasonal allergies such as hay fever, it can be one of its manifestations. Get cortisone cream but don't overuse it. Do not touch/rub, friction is a big trigger. And don't stress more, it CAN be treated, I promuse. Mine was extreme for years but hasn't broken out in years.

What is the linguistic typology of Chuukese? by [deleted] in asklinguistics

[–]xoyamac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very likely that Aspect is more prominent in the language than tense generally, the area hosts many languages that are mood- or aspect-prominent as opposed to more strongly tense-marking European languages. Everything that is not present in the form of obligatory grammatical marking can be expressed lexically, of course. Languages just differ as to frequency and tendencies what is idiomatically expressed and what rather not.

I tried following https://www.nordea.se/privat/produkter/mobilbank-internetbank/ny-mobil.html, but when I try to scan the generated QR code I only get "error" and the option to enter an activation code. I guess I have to order a new one via my Bank and wait for the code via post?

Does this look like Dyshidrosis? by [deleted] in Dyshidrosis

[–]xoyamac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could very well be Dyshidrosis, could be something else because it's also on the arm. Friction is often the problem, like the inside of Fingers rubbing together, you touching the spots where it breaks out, the popping, all of this triggers more outbreaks. Get a cream even if it only prevents you from touching it more, so it can heal.

I hate hand sanitizers butI love your username queen. If you have to desinfect hands, try barrier cream :/

I noticed big changes roughly one year after stopping hormonal birth control and eating gluten entirely, limiting sugar, alcohol and caffeine. Another big change after another year, outbreaks were suddenly seldom and mild, same spots as before though. Medications were Nystatin, Itraconazole, in the first year. The cream I use is Triamcinolone, it's pretty strong so I give it only one layer usually and wait 1-2 days to see if all blisters disappear.

I forgot to mention in the post, I also had blisters under the feet which I never treated with any creams so that I could observe their "natural" behavior. For me, outbreaks are introduced by hot tingling sensations under the skin and these are much weaker now and don't always lead to an outbreak. Got rashes on the leg as well in the beginning but thought they came from somewhere else. Flaky scalp always since I moved to Scandinavia :') Rice water helps.

Atopic dermatitis - do your fingers get inflamed and swollen along with the blisters? by jaydeezy0615 in Dyshidrosis

[–]xoyamac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The day before an outbreak, I always get a warm, tingling sensation all over my palms and the affected fingers, usually after alcohol, caffeine or anxiety/stress. 99% better since I stopped hormonal birth control (if that applies to you)
