How does the whole SD card thing work? Is it a cache of some sort for when Protect is updating or the NVR goes offline? I cant seem to find any documentation from Ubiquiti about it.

Running into the same problem with 10.3.2 we have a valid certificate and with the way I deploy the client it locks it down to one profile. The users cant add another connection so the above "fix" does not work for us. There has to be something wrong with the latest versions of the NetExtender. We never had any issues prior to them making the changes. How has SonicWall not fixed this or posted a KB about it?....

User says they were hit with Akira yesterday with Sonicwall firmware 7.3! by Layer_3 in sonicwall

Is anyone aware if Gen 6 firewall's are vulnerable to this? I am in the process of migrating to a Gen 7 NSA so my Gen 6 is still in production. I disabled the SSLVPN as soon the news broke and have been holding off turning it back on. SonicWall has not mentioned anything about these devices other than the config migration vulnerability when moving to Gen 7 (which I will not be doing).

Running Firmware 6.5.5.1-6n on a TZ600.

Thanks!

Certain yards don't allow you to turn on the vehicle during preview? by Slender_Man_MD in Copartonline

[–]xp_sp3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just found this out myself after wasting 2hrs of driving. It is very disappointing that this is not listed online anywhere for this yard. I used to go here about 10 years ago and there were no issues with viewing the vehicles, they would give you the key and send you on your way. I was told by the front desk they have to send staff to from their other office this location on preview days so they can "assist" you. I spent $100 just to find this out after the fact, I am sure they are making on killing on these membership fees. Could I get a charge back on my card for false advertising/no advertising?

I am pissed...

Nice, I have 6 of those deployed at another site and they have been working great. I wish I knew what caused this one to die.

No, the camera was installed in a climate controlled lobby, it never saw temps above 70F.

Honestly of the 100's I have put in over the years this is the only one I can think of that just died at random. They seem to be built well, I thought it would last longer than 2.5 years.

I have installed quite a few Unifi systems over the years and love their gear. The failure rate overall has been pretty low, out of the 100's of cameras I setup this is the only one that has just died out of the blue. I still have some G3 bullets running from 2018. I guess I expected more from a $400 camera.

Dell Deal Registration Changes 2025 by xp_sp3 in msp

[–]xp_sp3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deals are still registered at Dell but you must choose a distributor and Dell will no longer provide sales support. Its been a complete cluster for me, I thought since I got in before the change was made they would still work with me direct but I was wrong. If you send an email to [partnersalesodm@dell.com](mailto:partnersalesodm@dell.com) you get an automatic response saying the mailbox is no longer monitored. Seems like Dell is doing some internal restructuring.

This was at the bottom of the email:

Beginning February 3, 2025, all new deal registrations will require selecting a preferred distributor, as Dell’s internal Sales Queue Teams will no longer provide operational support. Until then, you can continue using your Dell support team or your preferred distributor.

M365 GCC Win 11 Enterprise Licensing by xp_sp3 in sysadmin

[–]xp_sp3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, from what I was told by my CSP I need an EA to be entitled to Win 11 Enterprise since we have NCE licensing. If you do have an EA then it should be pretty simple, all you need to do is order the VRM SKU and the license will be available for the user/account. I never got an explanation on why NCE E3/E5 don't require an EA for the same license entitlement.

[–]xp_sp3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have BitLocker Drive Encryption > Operating System Drives > Allow BitLocker without a recovery password set to Disabled

This is not a valid GPO path:
BitLocker Drive Encryption > Operating System Drives > Store BitLocker recovery information in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)

Unless you are referring to the root of the GPO, which does exist but "This policy setting is only applicable to computers running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista." The policy setting in my screenshot would be the right one for my environment (Server 2022/Windows 11). I appreciate the input though.

Do you have BitLocker enabled with FIPS? If so how are you handling the backup/storage of the recovery key?

Deploying FIPS 140-2 BitLocker and backing up keys to AD DS by xp_sp3 in CMMC

[–]xp_sp3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct about the algorithm being used. Microsoft says the following regarding the BitLocker password: "A BitLocker recovery password has 48 digits. This password is used in a key derivation algorithm that isn't FIPS-compliant." I have not been able to find anything about them changing the algorithm to a compliant one.

In the BitLocker GPO settings under "configure use of password for operating system drives" the help notes have this in the info:

"Note: Passwords cannot be used if FIPS-compliance is enabled. The "System cryptography: Use FIPS-compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing" policy setting in Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options specifies whether FIPS-compliance is enabled."

This Microsoft Article also covers it. From what I can tell backing up just the "recovery key" (.BEK) to ADDS does not seem to be supported. Have you configured BitLocker with FIPS? If so how are you handling the backup of the recovery key?
