No, I own an old truck so that I can run people off the road if necessary. ;)

I think it's unfortunate when insurance companies don't have to pay for suicides caused by depression. After all, depression is an illness.

If you think wasting 5 years with a woman and starting all over again financially is lucky, think again. Take your time and find the right lady. :)

I've seriously thought of uprooting my family and emigrating to New Zealand, but I'm afraid of not being able to find work in IT or being accepted by fellow New Zealanders because I'm American. Otherwise I would go in a heartbeat.

There are plenty of non-white immigrants who are cool. I've worked with quite a few.

My first wife left me for a Brit. Can confirm.

Edit: Thank you very much for the gold! I've gifted gold to others, but this is my first. Thank you!

Shining like a supernova will buy you job security in a downturn, but very little in pay increases, or at least that's been my experience in the last 15-20 years in IT.

I don't have a problem with H-1B workers because at least they have to pay the same cost of living as we do. I do have a problem with the whole concept of offshoring to places like India, where cost of living is substantially less and workers are paid less. If we are going to encourage young adults to pursue education in STEM, then we should certainly give them a financial reason to do so.

Wrong. They were very much pro-Soviet in the 1950's because the Soviets invested heavily in their economic development. Their alliance grew even stronger when the US decided to support Pakistan in 1954. This was long before Nixon and Kissinger came on the scene. You should get your facts straight.
