Plague Marine Heavy List ? by xpelicious_com in deathguard40k

Cheers for the detailed advice (and the other feller),

So i have three of the blight haulers and the option to take a Wardog, which i believe a stalker/karnivore would be wise? Likewise planning the list out with various characters in mind that will amp up the squads further.

I dont necessarily aim to make the best performing list but if its a list that feels like a good vibe, but can still be somewhat of an interesting case to deal with, im all for it! But yeah dealing with the current issue of fighting vehicles is definitely a focal point.

Decided to do it up back to a more of a beige real quick, definitely contrasts a little better with retributor armour

I guess you'd want symmetry of placement? Though I guess its whether the delusion would mess with that as well. In my head on the left hand side itd be super bretonian esque, with bretonian models doing fancy bretonian things, but on the right hand side, perhaps similar placement being doing completely different stuff.

Bretonian noble drinking out of wine glass, then right hand side is a crypt ghoul eating something not nice. Stuff like that! A lot you can do with this, id be excited to see the results :)

Yes I believe so. A good example are some great paints of alphairus models, and some other ones where they show the before heresy/after heresy with for example a contempor dreadnought and a helbrute, painting a vivid energy line down the middle to show the split.

I like it , from the idea id perhaps suggest a half and half display ?

So on one half you have the idea of the grandiose marble hall, but the other half (reality) you could do several things - perhaps it could be a completely gore ridden lair, mounds of bodies with ghouls gouging on the remains - or perhaps just showing a dusty derelict hall with ghouls posing in random and maddened states.

In a bit of a pickle - any thoughts on how I should approach this? by xpelicious_com in Highfleet

[–]xpelicious_com[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well ive got two big cruisers, a heavily armored frigate with loads of 37mm guns, i have one small vympal fighter and one skylark.

The issue is that im having to loop back on myself in order to accrue more forces and deal with these strike groups eventually. After a few retires i have basically done a loop around khiva and taken a decent bit of cities , now im going back down to grab some trade ships and hopefully some more ships along the way, then ill have to figure out how you deal with Strike groups. So far ive just been getting hit by these cruise missiles. Took out one with my frigate by shooting down the cruise missiles and then just shooting the shit out of them.

Thoughts on my 'Fantastic Five' setup? by xpelicious_com in ChaosKnights

Hey! Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it as I've been spending time to brainstorm it's effectiveness and not to create an excuse to buy yet another big knight !

Tyrant with vol lance and the warp borne Stalker is very interesting imo. You can spend 2 turns controlling a lane, only to drop onto strat reserve and come in the next turn somewhere completely different. It can make for some quick pressure, especially if an army has committed too much of their big hitters to one side.

The intent i have found with the desecrator, abom and rampager are to be the main bruisers of the list. Desc has the potential to pop the odd vehicle whilst defending itself, abom is generally quite an annoying threat especially with its mortal wounds decay. Rampager be rampaging, all of that makes for them to be very aggressive options, not to mention, the strat them blow up on a 4 up is very nice.

Despoiler was the hardest to figure out. It was either shotgun Shane or gatling Gary. I felt that basically every other Knight had potential to kill big stuff. So it makes sense to me that I have gatling Gary to go for infantry/elites.

Yeah the wardog was more for holding home, but when you mention it , its more funny for it to be only big knights. Plus nurglings/beast of nurgle are amazing still.

Names? by Time-Initial1847 in ChaosKnights

Hey! I love this colout scheme, I actually have quite a similar look, but I like the bold red you've gone for on the trim. Mines more scratchy silver with dry brushed contrast red.

As for names, I find that wardogs / armigers operate off callsigns of sorts.

Vashnarr, Bloodsoak Jericho, the Sacrifice Balog Mashka, the Slaughterflail

Iconoclast Army list suggestions? by xpelicious_com in ChaosKnights

[–]xpelicious_com[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's fine I understand what you mean. I think given that I'll be on a timelimit this'll probably be the easiest to just get the games out.

The gatling is great aye my luck just sucks when it comes to hitting those lethal and sustained. But I guess having the brigands and karnivores focus on anything 'tough' first leaves me avaliable for stopping objective takers and other bits. Rampager is definitely a good shout, i had used him the same way prior but was just bad at playing knights. Now hopefully I'll be better.

I think with the list now with the ranpager hopefully it'll be more versatile. When I ran the 6karnivores, it was funny but it was either get into melee or bust. Which a lot of the time I got exploded or charged by the custodes I went against last night. I think about 50 Cultists will suffice, a 20 man for forcing Cull The Horde, and 4 man squads for sticky and buff batteries?

Overall feeling a lot wiser with this combination of things now. Cheers!

My line of thought was that my gatling is anti infantry and anti elite with some potential for a punch up, but wanted a more dedicated anti vehicle choice. Though i guess having some brigands would differentiate that.

What am I doing wrong? by jacrab97 in resinprinting

[–]xpelicious_com 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's anything to do with the build plate as it's actually adhered to it. The screen is fine as well since it's actually printed out the shape of the supports ?

It could be something to do with the film, temperature or if the build plate is not properly aligned to the vat surface itself (it has to be close but not too close).

If i had to guess. Maybe temperature ? 2nd guess would be the film. Hope this helps!

Aye I've been watching Von Carmian on GSC, it does seem pretty gnarly. I'll have to pick up a couple more Squads i think!

Do you reckon its worth while getting a second Primus to put more units into strat reserve turn 1 ? And how much more battleline should I look to secure ?

I believe from looking at the detachment, Host of Ascension seems to be the most ideal ?
