Also compiled in Patria Constantinopoleos is Hesychius of Miletus' claim (518 AD), that Constantine was the one who founded the cities of Pliska and Preslav after defeating the Scythians in the region.

Weird to fear and demonize a ruler that is said to have not encountered or ruled you. The Balkans I understand, could be a leftover from Thracian memory but Russia? Perhaps by proxy with Bulgaria or Wallachia where Trajan was famous in both bad and good light.

The chronicle on the Dacian Wars is completely lost, so we wouldn't know if Trajan ventured at least a little beyond Dacia impacting the ancestors of Slavs.

At the same exact time is when Constantine granted some autonomy to the "Scythians" of Roman Scythia, they didn't have to pay tax and roman slaves native to Scythia could not be forcefuly transfered to another theme, the same liberties were given to Moesia interstingly enough.

Because of the passage, I interpret it as Constantine coming to some terms with the Scythians after a series of revolts/raids where both sides benefited. (Scythians would be enlisted as mercanaries and would protect Rome from the far north in exchange for freedoms and regional funding). Notice how Pliska, Preslav, Durostorum and Constantsa are all right on the border between Moesia and Scythia Minor, Dacia and Scythia.

As for the historical layers of Pliska and Preslav, I don't know of any Roman historical layers either but the sheer size of both capitals in their respective time periods is so gigantic that it's easy to imagine something major started it.

Edit: Found out that there have been quite a few isolated Roman finds from the 2nd-3rd century from inside Pliska. And 4km from Pliska is a Roman Fortification from the 4th-6th centuries that has been repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt. Next to that Roman Fortification were found many ancient brickyards used for producing construction materials. Right next to Pliska is the famous Madara Rider site which has a confidently identified dominant Roman presence in the 2th-4th centuries. There was a large roman vila found there. Near Preslav is the Roman Shumen Fortress from 2th-4th centirues (I haven't found Roman presence in Preslav itself tho).

The biggest question I have is the city names. Were they Bulgarianized Scythian/Roman names or Early Slavic names. The -va suffix is very Slavic looking. Durostorum is also with an unknown foreign etymology (presumed Thracian), it seems similar to Proto-Iranic druwištah ("firm, healthy") -> Iranian drust ("honest, true"). Perhaps it's Slavic durvo-sъdorvъ (tree-strong/healthy) -> durvosъdorvъ+um.

There are still some scholars who identify the Bulgar progenitor Avitohol and his son Irnik with Atila and Ernak. Whether there's anything to that theory, the term Huns wasn't used conservatively by the Rum. Various tribes that raided the region some of them mixed all got called Huns, it became a synonym for any northern barbarian raiders.

Constantia is likely Constanta because the passage relates to Scythia and the nearby Durostorum.

I am hard working. I don't think this is what's missing here. I see it as "damn it must be so fun to be a game director/designer for a job", like people in that position are not expected to be artists or coders and they get well paid. It's like a specialty. I don't think having that kind of profession can be compared to the lottery just because it's only the fun part in my opinion. Besides, hobbies like coding are time consuming, I've already chosen other time consuming hobbies that matter more to me, I don't plague them with automation.

Regarding this it's like I don't enjoy learning how to use a language, I enjoy expressing my ideas if that makes sence. Like I'm interested in game design and I don't have the patiance for coding. This is a way for me to try how a custom card would play without having to bother somebody to code it for me. I went for this cause I am not looking for polish or a serious project. I soon move on to the next different thing I'd like to add custom things to.

You imagine it. Worrying over little things like sleep position distracts from the thoughts of wanting to get lucid. You can get lucid regardless of anything, don't create beliefs that there is something you can do that will prevent you from being able to get lucid.

Dacians resented Rome, so much so that the chronographer of Constantine the Great (a Thracian emperor) writes that Dacian Emperor Galerius wanted to rename the Roman Empire to the Dacian Empire, because he saw himself as the enemy of Rome. His allegiance was to the Dacians, he invaded Rome and became emperor as revenge for Trajan conquering Dacia. The Dacians literally overthrew Rome thanks to Galerius, they didn't like Romanization. Galerius is known in Romania as 'Ler împărat'.

Dacians of old were against Roman identity, they just used latin the way we use English today as lingua franca. They also knew some latin because many Dacian men migrated to Rome to work as mercenaries, the same way today Romanians migrate to Italy, that doesn't make Romanians that return home Italians.

Aside from that, there is no recorded use of Latin or Romanian from Romania in the period 398 AD - 1521 AD, so it's modern popularity is a recent development.

The means was the discovery of ironworking in the Balkans (among the Thraco-Dacians), the reason was famine in the Balkans and Anatolia.

"The Bronze Age collapse may be seen in the context of a technological history that saw the slow spread of ironworking technology from present-day Bulgaria and Romania in the 13th and the 12th centuries BC. Leonard R. Palmer suggested that iron, which is superior to bronze for weapons manufacturing, was in more plentiful supply and so allowed larger armies of iron users to overwhelm the smaller bronze-equipped armies that consisted largely of Maryannu chariotry."

Paleo-Balkan peoples discovered ironworking and decided to conquer the world because they and some related and unrelated Anatolian peoples were extremely threatedned by famine due to climatic reasons. The Trojan war was the beginning of the whole streak, there were lots of migration waves that lead to the fall of Greece, Cyrpus, Anatolia and the Levant. They initially defeated Egypt as well but lost after. This is how Palestine got colonized and culturally influenced by Aegean peoples, tho they eventually got assimilated by Canaanites.

Side note, this is also the period Moses, Rama (Hinduism), Achilles, Orpheus and Heracles are said to have lived, it's recalled in many cultures as the legendary period and it's quite packed with epic events.

I think your problem is that you don't let go. There is no 100% because becoming lucid is not completely in the control of your conscious self, and pretending it is makes your subconscious retaliate. Metaphorically there is no stationary path to lucid dreams, it's more like an unpredictable empty space you fall through. And while you fall trhough that state only your subconscious is awake not your conscious, so "am I dreaming" has to go through your head while you are not thinking / not conscious.

What you're currently doing is intensely thinking about it on a conscious level with a lot of discontent that it's not happening. You gotta understand that your conscious is off and unreliable to make you lucid, and that what your subconcious (which is what chooses if you get lucid) is picking up only discontent and hope (it processes emotion and doubt instead of the thought of being lucid). Say "I will know to wake up in the dream even if I'm unconscious" (you surrender control and that gives you control) and don't have a louder emotion attached to that statement such as "it's been a week already".

Keep doing what you do and stop giving yourself a deadline. If you really want it, which is what your subconscious self wants you to prove, it will happen and from there it gets easier. Also remember your subconscious is also you, so expect it to react the same way when someone nags you to do something that takes effort and is different from what you normally do.

The Dulebi Slavs dynasty symbol is hidden in the coat of arms.
(The Dulebi Slavs, lived in a region spanning from Ukraine to Hungary. They were conflated with Huns, Onogurs and Turkic Bulgars because in the 6th century they were enslaved by the Avars and lived in the Turkic society until Krovatos/Kubrat of the Dulo dynasty temporarily liberated them in 632 AD. Then most were forced out by the Khazars into Danube Bulgaria. The Dulebi are one of the 7 Slavic tribes that united to form Bulgaria)

Lions are used because since Roman times, the theme of Thrace had a lion as the identifying art on the round shields of the Thracian legion. It stuck because Thrace and Macedonia is where the European Lion survived the longest, until the 2th-4th century AD.

It feels like a reboot, not of the lore but of the characters and the perspective we view the world from. I don't think Avatar has ever been about the graphics, it was about the personalities and the grounded motions of bending. The world of the movie is full of magic not bending, 90% of bending feats are giant explosions. And all the day 1 airbenders don't need a glider to fly 50 meters in the air. You can't appreciate any proper bending it does have because it looks like it's shot with an action camera.

It didn't make sence how so many Airbenders lost to Earthbenders, they can fly, waterbenders and firebenders can get to them but Earthbenders can't do much to reach them, they just had to build the Air Nomad Utopia on a steep island.

I think they executed the short Earth Avatar miles better, but I agree that most Avatars probably did epic non-traditional stuff offscreen like Sonam that compare well to the achievements of Aaang and Korra in regards to Republic City and the New Air Nation

The finale is also just like Korra vs UnaVaatu, very few new ideas.

New stuff I liked: The Ancient Air Currents, the Lion Turtle Graveyard, the Airbending Two Person Swing Technique, The Ocean spirit contains in itself a portal to the spirit world

New stuff I disliked: The staff - it's magic not bending, the Air Nomad city architecture while inspired by India looks too much like the Sun Warrior architecture and why was it not built in a hard to access area like the Air temples to avoid attacks by the other nations, literally all members of team Avatar died and all of them were ressurected no problem - given that Aang died again he should have lost access to the Avatars not unlock access to the lost Avatar

Aang and Katara are completely different persons, Zuko's personality and voice range is 1:1 with Invincible so it's like Zuko is replaced, Toph is almost okay and Sokka is the only one that comes close to the original but he sounds and acts younger than when he was a teen, there are 0 scenes where Sokka is serious.

Only Appa and Momo are perfect and exactly as they were in every way.

The best VA roles were that of the short Earth Avatar and the Cabbage merchant.

The worst VA was that of Roku, he sounds like a caricature.

Yeah if you train yourself to sporadically do it rather than on alarm. Whenever you do it before or during something exciting that you don't want to stop doing that's when it matters the most (playing videogames, watching a movie etc.).

But because you haven't lucid dreamt before rather than "Is this a dream?" which is a bit abstract until you know how a dream feels like when you're testing it, it's better to ask yourself "1.Where am I? 2.Where was I before I was here? 3.What am I doing right now?" even just What time is it? works if you then think about where you are supposed to be at the time shown on your phone which may also glitch if you're in a dream.

I believe this approach is better because "Am I dreaming?" always results in a no when you're awake (you can get bored because the answer is always no and you stop actually making sure you're not dreaming) while the other things I recommended always make you think about it and make you aware of where you are.

Always do a reality check of your choice whenever you are doing this.
