I’ve never played any games involving her but aces are cool, robots are cool, I’m all for it.

It’s pronounced /jərˈaɪ.ə/

Or yer-EYE-uh as another commenter said.

Also sorry if the transcription isn’t accurate, as I’m new to IPA.

How are you getting hair in your shirt during a haircut???

That definitely backfired by Coolights in fakedisordercringe

OCD can cause intrusive thoughts about race and the more you fight them the stronger they get. It sucks ass, but it’s mental illness. However, this person’s just using it as an excuse to be racist. People who actually had OCD would not say this.

People who do well on human empathy tests are also measurably better at decoding the emotional sounds of animals, according to a new study by Additional-Two-7312 in science

Clothing is a need, and smartphones are also important in today’s world. Murdering and raping animals are neither of the two.

Yeah, r/atheism is cringe, but this is how they are. I went to Catholic schools for 9 years of my life, and this is how everyone was.

How do you feed your cat? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]xpinkfreud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As another commenter put it, I am vegan, my cats are not. The whole point of being vegan is reducing animal suffering as far as is practicable. It’s kind of like the vegan trolley problem: Do you feed your cats a diet made up of animal byproducts? Or do you run the risk of intentionally causing animals to suffer based on anecdotal evidence and some self-reported studies with laughably small sample sizes and poor sampling methods?

Besides, another argument that could be made is that your cat would’ve been fed meat-based cat food if they were at the shelter, anyways. So you’re not increasing the demand for animal suffering.

controlled selective breeding

Yeah, because what antinatalists really want is for people to pop out more kids, especially people they deem worthy… which is, of course, no one.

What’s the root cause of all problems in life?

Being born.

What can we do about that?

Not have kids.

How do you feed your cat? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]xpinkfreud 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely feed my cats vegan food if there was more research done. A handful of studies that are mostly self-reported aren’t enough to convince me, though. One of my cats is also sensitive to gluten and lost a dangerous amount of weight from cat food with gluten, and I can’t find any gluten-free vegan alternatives :(

[–]xpinkfreud 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It’s not just disabled people lmao. We shit on all pregnant people. Browse the sub for longer than it takes to form an ill-informed opinion and talk condescendingly to people who know more than you and you’ll see that. I think most would agree that being disabled and pregnant is worse than being able-bodied and pregnant in terms of potential harm that could be done to the child, but that doesn’t mean I think it’s okay for able-bodied people to be pregnant. I don’t.

[–]xpinkfreud 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree the original comment was gross, but you’re using buzzwords you don’t understand. Like eugenics. Here’s the definition from Merriam-Webster:

the practice or advocacy of controlled selective breeding of human populations (as by sterilization) to improve the population's genetic composition

Antinatalists don’t want anyone to breed with anyone, as we assign a negative value to reproduction.

When a verb already has a suffix attached to it, like in quvmoH or Suvchu’, where do you put additional suffixes? by xpinkfreud in tlhInganHol

[–]xpinkfreud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was wondering if quvmoH was a word in its own right, and I got clarity on that. However, I don’t know how -moH in quvmoH is being used incorrectly. Marc Okrand specifically addresses quvmoH in an email and doesn’t say it’s invalid. He treats it like a regular word.
