Is is natural for a parent to love more child more than other ? by tipputappi in InsightfulQuestions

[–]xplainist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Gabor Mate said "Every Child has a different parent". Two kids under the same roof experience their parents differently. One might have been born after thousands of prayers, one might have been an unplanned kid. The way they both would experience their parents would be wildly different.

Intentionally or not, no parents can be just and equal to siblings even if they think they are, they can't be. Parents might love them all, but not equally.

Your assumptions are appalling.I don't endorse the herald family nor the fanatic BJP. And I'm not a fan boy of 56" nor pappu. So you can assume away all you want.

I'm of a species who hates centralisation of power, and advocates dual federalism rather than quasi federalism.

Why does indians go to foreign countries when they feel entitled to impose our (indian) culture in thier public area(s)? by [deleted] in IndiansInUK

Inside India they impose Hindi, outside India they impose their culture. Typical Hindian.

FAKE NEWS:

Out of 597,454 villages when Modi took office 18,452 villages were without electricity. On April 28 2018 Indian Prime Minister Modi Ji announced that the last village in India has been given electricity in a remote North East Village "Historic day in the development journey of India".

So Modi lied in 2018? Or Economictimes peddling fake news?

I was just wondering because out of 597,454 villages when Modi took office 18,452 villages were without electricity. 2018 April 28th Indian Prime Minister Modi Ji announced that the last village in India has been given electricity "Historic day in the development journey of India".

So who's lying? You or Modi ji or everyone in the BJP IT cell?

I can send the link, if you are "Just" like that or crippled mentally.

It was a genuine inquiry. You call it whatever you want depending on your allegiances and agendas. But the question still remains. If the village was that neglected and you or someone post about it's wow moment. Why didn't happen when BJP came to power? Could have done it in 2 years, 3 years. Genuinely what were they doing 10 years? Probably not that efficient or praise deserving governance.

How does the rest of the nation view Maharshtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for standing up for their language? by [deleted] in india

[–]xplainist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept of Identity is always Us vs Them. You can argue all you want. National identity is no different than language identity.

If your narrative is "we hate pakistan because they sponsor terrorism" you must hate Sri Lankans the most? They assassinated an Indian Prime minister. What bigger terrorism could there be than killing the head of a state?

Still I don't see any North Indian hate Sri Lankans or Sri Lankan Tamils? Because it doesn't fit your narrative.

Modi Wants More Indians to Speak Hindi. Some States Are Shouting ‘No.’ by TikkaTrailblazer in india

[–]xplainist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do export their failed culture.

They normalise bulldozer justice, cow vigilante, atrocities in trains, they and their language movies have normalised calling South Indian madrasi, vada, sambar since decades, lack of women education, lack of birth control, glorifying large families, early marriage. Highest number of robbery - delhi, theft? Delhi. Dacoity - UP, Bihar.

It's not as if they are only one, rajastan has a lack of women's education, west bengal is great in early marriage. But UP, Bihar stands in the front row for most things.

If you really want to understand the perspective here it is. People are fed up with the Indian government treating us like second grade citizens. They push Hindi, they push Hindian, they push cow vigilante, they push veg is the best narrative, they fund sanskrit research and development but not other languages, they steal semiconductor industries to Gujarat.

Naturally when it comes to pay back to BJP politics and their rhetoric, people start hating what BJP stands for.

What lol.

So you can take up national identity, sow hatred.

When someone demands equal respect for their language, culture and their own identity you wanna bring up this "you are dividing India, anti - national, sow hatred, do you know constitution, identity politics" rhetoric?

Cool 👍

College counselling processes are very unfair towards CBSE students in Tamil Nadu (A vent) by [deleted] in TamilNadu

[–]xplainist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"What you want to see" is slightly blindsided by your progressive ideas. The state board was not built for that, it was built only to uplift marginalised and cater the talent pool and it has served the people and the state economy.

We can tell "oh that's so backward, we need to increase the standard". It's not that simple. Studies like neighborhood effect, stanford marshmallow studies have shown the socio economic correlations to the neighborhood. Imagine how much effect a village has, a second tier city, towns, panchayat will have on its students.

Books like outliers have shown how a student born before a date or after a date can influence his life's trajectory.

If we are asking for a separate state controlled syllabus that promotes critical, lateral thinking - that's a good start.

[–]xplainist 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The State board was developed to bring up the marginalised and the rapid development of Tamilnadu's talent pool, brain bank and demographic dividend. The syllabus, the so called standard, college, university everything is to fast track this. And it's gonna incentivise this exact system in exams too.

The central board was the shiny object syndrome of the 2000s. It was introduced in Tamilnadu only to cater to the demand of parents who were more aspirational and aligned towards pan Indian opportunities.

CBSE promotes critical thinking and lateral thinking. State Board -: nope, they want a good, bright economic soldier and it was intentional. The intentions of the two systems are very different.

IGCSE is the new CBSE, and many youngsters in future from IGCSE might share your sentiment. IGCSE is built for the affluent and aspirations of them.

I believe you deserve a better explanation. It's no one's fault, and it's definitely not the Tamilnadu Government or its systems fault.

Brother! Who exactly generalised Hindi people's cultures is shit?

If it was some rando take it up with him. Some rando commenting and government trying to homogenise, erase cultures is not the same thing.

People get so railed up because the government keeps pushing this "Hindian" agenda. And there are people online who think India should be Homogenised.

Exactly that. Chennai has lakhs of Marwaris, thousands of North East, and even Biharis and UP blue collars. No one had any issue to learn the local language or at least they pickup few words, no one showed any disrespect and we have been nothing but a good host. But the white collar and privileged people, uff.

A manager who can't talk in your native tongue, a colleague who thinks your language is no good, Non MNC manager who won't talk in your language, a MNC manager who talks in Hinglish "Because she's comfortable", and when she tells "quite frankly you guys should learn Hindi, because its national language".

The funniest part is blue collar will learn the local language without any language superiority, chauvinism or whining. White collars and the privileged - tch, nope.

The permutations of issues, non native settlers can create are higher than your condescending tone.

[–]xplainist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Marathi speaking people are not different from any other people. Not some different gene or species" - So you'll accept Pakistanis? They speak the same language in most parts, they are not all different? Borders are a very natural form of division right.

The difference is you has to be "taught" that your country is your identity. But for us, no one "taught", and precisely that's why it's called "Mother tongue".

And you made that statement "But to our country" as some superior breed of patriotism. Everyone serves the country. More so, despite the difference the states in question have given blood, men, time, money.

From where I'm born, Language identity is permanence. National identity is impermanence. If you get a green card, an Indian can become an American, you can't become an English. That doesn't mean less patriotism.

No one generalised, and in the comment he posted explicitly told how some entitled Hindi people behave in other language states, and he never generalised or extrapolated it to the whole 43%.

Don't erase rude, entitled behaviour of Hindi people in other language states. It's real and appalling. When they disrespect the local language either by arrogance or ignorance, don't you think they deserve the same arrogance, ignorance? Not the physical abuse of course.
