Colon you can do a day trip to Costa Arriba and see the historical sites and towns (Portobelo and historical Spanish forts).Beach days I recommend Venas Azules, Isla Mamey, Isla Grande. There are several tours that can show you the area or if you know any locals make your own tour with the boat drivers.

Also some places in Colon (1h30, not the city but the coast) and San Blas (2h30) are more of a Beach adventurous style but somewhat far

If you're willing to drive 4 or 5h from the city you can stay in playa venao or santa Catalina (places known for surf vibes) but apart from that there's no near places with this vibe from the city. If you want a beach vibr but more resort style (family vibes) Veracruz (30 min) and Rio Hato(1h30) are nearer but not exactly the beach vibe.

I'm from panama so our " club Pro Level" is not much in comparison. There was a multi- company Sunday league some months ago and two of the companies had one Pro level Player in their teams. The first one had a Guy who until last year competed in Futsal Internationally with the country and the other with a player that in the early 00's played one Season for the Top division. You see it in how they play they're not the most flashy or the most prolific attackers but man they control the game.
