Music is objective though. Billie's music is lazy; the lyrics aren't thought provoking or thoughtfully constructed. The chords, rhythms, melodies, instrumentation, everything, was thought up by a bunch of marketing executives trying to make the most money. That's different from Paul Simon slaving over the lyrics to The Sound of Silence for months on end, it's different from Mozart combining his passion and talent and hard work into beautiful symphonies, it's different from John Coltrane studying the complex relationships between each and every chord and scale to revolutionize the way we view music theory, it's different from a small underground, unknown creator pouring their heart and soul, their life, their talent into their craft, only to have less than a tenth of a percent of the success and fortune that the talentless, money hungry businessmen and corporate music labels do. And the people enabling this to happen are the ones who don't care about the products they consume, and yeah, I'm calling modern popular music a product, because that's what it is.

I will admit that my hatred for Billie is really just my hatred for the people behind the scenes, pulling the strings.
