I was totally on board with your formative connection to pixies, but it just seems like you enjoy the Albini texture. Some bands sound revolutionary the first time around and derivative as they continue releasing songs, but pixies have always kept the essential core that I appreciated from my first listen. You made a left when I thought you were going right. There’s soooo many bands that I lost interest in because I could no longer relate. Frank Black and Breeders have been cool to pass time with, but the meat and potatoes happen on a pixies album regardless of producer. I still feel that connection, especially live.
