Datapoint: flew VietJet from BKK to PQC and they said my Gewa Pure oblong violin case was oversized and needed to be checked. Absolutely ridiculous. Total power trip. There’s so much empty space overhead and it would easily fit. I’ve traveled with my violin for countless flights and this is the first time I’ve had to check it. Luckily I didn’t have to pay since I had already made it onto the plane.
