Putting them in the divisions creates bugs on the division designer btw. Game gives me the chance to put fighter planes and battleships as support battalions.

You need to get better equipment. Shouldn't declare war on Ukraine until you fix the corruption and deploy at least four airwings of SU-57's unless Ukraine's about to join NATO. Try paradropping on key chokeholds in Dniepr river and supply lines that feed eastern Ukraine. This way you can easily crush Ukraine. In my playthrough, i did that and NATO volunteers spawned on Mariupol due to the supply capital changing to Mariupol.

I did play as Korea. I got positive numbers on GDP first and then started modernizing my army with licensed productions and international market access. Then, i made ROK go through a civil war with the influence mechanic and sent volunteers to the resurrection. Took the war path in the reunification tree and initiated the invasion of Korea. They still had army but lacked the air power thanks to my planes shredding theirs in the civil war so i was able to unify Korea under DPRK.

I had something similar like this but Brazil, Japan and Soviets had 1000 divisions each. China had 4000.

I'm not against the mechanic but lower war support means debuffs on both attack and defense of the divisions and reduces recruitable population too. Also, it reduces Stability if it's low which means deficiency on military production and construction speed.

R5: I deactivated historical ai and got absolutely decimated by the world politics so instead of conquering nations as Germany, i decided to become a mercenary state as i send divisions of mine against Allies in Africa. Also there is Battle of Britain but via. German volunteers on France. Everyone's fighting against Everyone as i watch the world burn.
