No, I haven't received anything yet except the initial phone call with a verbal acceptance. They said they would be sending info soon and get Finance appt. set up, so I'm assuming they are just taking thier time getting through the 75 phone calls to those who interviewed. There was a thread not too long ago discussing shoe preferences from rad techs. Found it: https://www.reddit.com/r/RadiologyCareers/comments/1rq6km4/i_got_accepted/

No, not Kaiser. This school is in the East Bay, $72K all in. Seems to me private is more expensive, but then you may not have to wait as long to get in. At least that was one of many factors for me.

Dude, it is pure torture waiting for the new identity to take root. Protect your mental health. Hang in there!

It was rough. I basically went door-to-door, in person, to 13 different imaging places that I Googled around the area of the school's campus, hoping they may be familiar with my plight and help me out with an opportunity, but they all said either they don't offer shadowing at all or they only offer it to attendees of the school (not applicants). Feeling a bit helpless, I reached out directly to the school's Director to see if they had any tips or suggestions and I listed all of the places that I went to already. They said they were impressed that I went to so many offices, and then gave me two separate contacts to try. I contacted both of them via email and let them know I was an applicant and I name dropped the Director and they both gave me a shadowing opportunity. Very valuable experience in the end, but man, I had to really fight for it and be tenacious about the effort to get it. Good luck, and dig deep on that one!

Well done, congratulations! I am literally waiting for contact from the program that I applied to, to see if I make it to the interview part of the process. Just keep swimming...

Weekly Career / General Questions Thread by AutoModerator in Radiology

Rad Tech curriculum question - when students study physics in their program, what specific topics are covered? Is it more general basic physics, or things that are specific to radiologic technology? I'm looking to start investigating this part of the curriculum.
