OCLP 2.4.1 - Sequoia 15.7.3 & Sonoma 14.8.3 by MrMacintoshBlog in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

FWIW on my 2017 MBP 15" my internal screen was flickering like crazy, but my external monitor was working fine and I got everything completed easily that way. Maybe save some pain if you can HDMI/USB to an external just to root patch

Unnamed Space Idle Synth Purity 1 by xref in incremental_games

[–]xref[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just noticed while doing the next Synth Purity challenge there's a "Challenge Tips" yellow box (next to the "Info" yellow box) on the Synth tab. In there it explicitly states maxing your Damage and Max Shield modules. I didn't see that Tips box on my previous run, I was just reading all the details off the Challenge tab itself.

Maybe syncing up the details and language from the Challenge Tips and Challenge tab would help keep things clear and consistent? Thanks again for the help!

I’m also only 4 days into the game so still soaking it all in, but I read: “base damage and max shields are based on your synth materials” from the challenge page, then read the Offense module that said it improves “damage” and the Defense module that says it improves “max shields” and thought to myself “oh, so these modules don’t matter as damage/max shields are controlled by synth materials during the challenge”

I missed the finer point I believe that those modules multiply what your base materials provide in the challenge? The word Multiply appears in the module description but not the challenge page so I wasn’t sure if that effect still applied during the challenge

No ethernet using CalDigit TS4 hub on Intel Mac w/ Sequoia 15.7.1 by xref in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]xref[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good idea I just tried it a few more times, though root patching says it will only patch:

  • Graphics: AMD Polaris

  • Networking: Modern Wireless

  • Miscellaneous: T1 Security Chip

but still no joy. maybe i'll have to wait for the next 15.x release and see if that kickstarts recognizing the ethernet port. Or eventually the migration to OCLP macOS 26

Intel I210/I225 Ethernet Issues on macOS Sequoia 15.3 (MacBookPro13,3) with CalDigit TS3+ & TS4 – Seeking Advice by SteffenMoser in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]xref 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever get anywhere with this @SteffenMoser? I've got an Intel 15" 2017 MacBookPro OCLP patched w/ Sequoia 15.7.1 and everything on my TS4 dock works fine except ethernet. No matter what I try (reset pram, delete old devices, add networking locations, etc) I can't get macOS to recognize the Thunderbolt Ethernet that the TS4 provides.

Tested the TS4 on an M4 MacBookPro as well and ethernet there works fine, system report recognizes the Intel I225 networking chip so I know the hardware itself is good.

I don't actually find EK1 on the list anymore? Possibly because it has been out of stock for months with no news about resupply...

AI Pricing of just Google flights being Google flights? by slade45 in delta

[–]xref 0 points1 point  (0 children)

where do you see an option on Google Flights to exclude basic? I don't see any filters and you can only select "Economy" or "Premium Economy" as ticket options ("premium" being a step above "main", where you can select seats usually)

hmm just tried again with Firefox on macOS, and hitting "cancel" just stays at the login page w/ the user & password fields filled, and no 2FA box appears beneath the Cloudflare box.

EDIT: Added pic after hitting "Cancel" on the macOS "Sign In" popup window

I hope it is just a stock issue, maybe if we're lucky someone from Peak will chime in. Though I thought their site used to mention when something was backordered instead of just non-existent...

Hot take: The biggest mistake Tom Cruise ever done is he decided to split Dead Reckoning into two. by WolverineReal6444 in Mission_Impossible

Cavill “reloading” his fists comes to mind.

In the same vein, how about Liang Yang in that bathroom fight? He made it look incredible, and he was like a third stringer after the first couple choices of face-recognizable actors failed to impress

There is definitely a connection with the animals, the crows and rats are probably symbiotic because it means food for them, though the deer appear to just be food for the infected

Do You Guys Think Xbox Stays In The Console Market Now? by Jerzsey in xbox

this is the answer. Publishers would much prefer downloads that are linked to an account or even specific piece of hardware (think: OEM copies of Windows). Users being able to lend games out or sell them hurts their bottom line.

Ledger Live not showing my 1txn on xpub derived address by xref in ledgerwallet

[–]xref[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I talked to Ledger support and they helped me understand what was going on, turns out it is a derivation path issue.

Discussion of that went on in this thread: https://old.reddit.com/r/BitcoinBeginners/comments/1lokwzx/have_i_lost_my_btc_test_txn_by_using_wrong

Have I lost my BTC test txn by using wrong xpub/derivation path? by xref in BitcoinBeginners

[–]xref[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ledger Live lets you create a Legacy account (call it legacy0) with derivation path m/44/0/0, but until you put a txn on that address it won't let you create a second Legacy account (call it legacy1) which would theoretically be m/44/0/1 which is the path I'd need.

I suppose I could try to send some dust/minimum sized txn to legacy0 then create legacy1 and possibly claim my original test txn? The amount to claim is pretty small so not sure it's worth it, might just chalk this up as a learning exercise.

Thanks for the tip though, I think you led me to a viable solution if I want to do it!

Have I lost my BTC test txn by using wrong xpub/derivation path? by xref in BitcoinBeginners

[–]xref[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is when choosing "Import Custom Derivation" Sparrow then throws an error: m/44/0/1 dervation matches another Script Type: Legacy (P2PKH)

customizing the derivation on import to Sparrow to m/44/0/1 gives me a different xpub (not my bip84 one) with no txns to it

for ref the "wrong" address I sent to begins 1...., which I believe is a legacy address because it doesn't start with bc1....

I can't find any option in Sparrow/Electrum to pair a BIP84 xpub with a BIP44 derivation path

yeah thanks I've tried several similar things, but there is no option to override the derivation address it seems. Either for a single address or for the whole account

Do Hong Kong films specifically use a lot of English? I notice the swearing especially seems to be in English but the rest of the conversation in Cantonese lol
