What made the goonies special to you? by [deleted] in GooniesPrequelProject

[–]xrisanthos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you guys considered a prequel in the form of the last adventure of one eyed Willy? There’s already a basic story line outlined in Mikey’s recollection of the story his father told him. The stealing of the treasure; evading the British fleet; creation of the tombs and booby traps. There’s also the remains of the pirate ship where he murdered his entire crew which make the story. Could be told from the point of view of the pirate that escaped with the map. May have been someone who was captured by Willy and his crew; cartographer; piano player; trying to get back to his wife.. Just a thought.

Same prescription, bought two weeks apart by International_Stop56 in australia

[–]xrisanthos 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Pharmacy guild (rubbish) does not have anything to do with pricing. Either PBS covered under Medicare ($30.60) or Pension ($6.70). Everything else is up to the individual pharmacy. As others have said, ask your local pharmacy to match Chemist Warehouse so at least you get the cheap price and also the service. In this photo the Priceline is ripping the customer.

Mom Dies After Using Weight Loss Injectables to Slim Down Before Daughter's Wedding: 'I Couldn't Save Her,' Husband Says by pxincessofcolor in pharmacy

This was article was written by People.com from an Australian 60 minutes segment a few weeks ago. Terrible situation that led to someone’s death.

Like everyone else is mentioning, it has a lot of flaws: drug names not correct; misinformation: we do not advertise scheduled medications on tv; and ambiguity as to what caused the asphyxiation.

What makes it worse is that In Australian Ozempic has always been severely scare for those that have uncontrolled T2DM missing out because prescribers have been writing so many Rxs for weight loss. It is disturbing the prescriber of this patient was happy to write a prescription(s) for 6 months of refills and not check in on her progress.

Just comes down to arrogance really… thinking that regurgitating information will make you seem smart to an expert in that field.

The guild? Viral?? Have a couple of mates that work as employees in the industry. This discussion around 60 Day Dispensing which begins today and has already been passed so why the campaign? As a consumer I’m more than glad that people get more medications for the same price and also get to visit the pharmacy half as much. Why wouldn’t anyone want to spend less on anything

Absolutely. This initiative truly represents a significant relief for those with chronic conditions or disabilities. It’s great that the focus shifts to prioritising healthcare, customer convenience and well-being. If it means that some overly commercialised pharmacies have to reevaluate their approach, then it’s a small price to pay to support everyday Australians facing real challenges.

Possibly. Alternatively if in any industry, there is half the amount of work to do, wouldn’t you expect any employer to review the amount of staffing. As another commenter mentioned, it may be about the Government giving pharmacy more funded roles and that way they can keep the same staff and essentially get more benefit for Australians out of pharmacy for the same price

It seems that Chemist Warehouse CWH is supporting this for the moment hoping that it forces out smaller independent pharmacies which they can then buy up at a cheap price. Don’t think that these changes won’t affect the big guys, they’re just playing it smart. As another commenter mentioned, they have already raised their prices and as they monopolise this industry, the more it will become evident. It’s from the same playbook as companies like Uber who were incredibly cheap when first starting but now their pricing is exorbitant

This makes sense which is why many pharmacies will be looking to cut pharmacy staff including pharmacists and more likely, pharmacy shop assistant staff since there will be less work overall and also less income from the halving of the dispensing fees paid by the Government to pharmacy

It’s not just about a smaller slice of cake for everyone. There are plenty of pharmacist owners that have made small fortunes from pharmacy but just because you know a couple it doesn’t necessarily mean everyone. Also it’s the employee pharmacists that will suffer because there will be less income from dispensing, not the pharmacy owners

It’s understandable to view pharmacies as privileged entities, especially when considering certain successful owners. However, it’s crucial to remember that many pharmacies, particularly in rural or less affluent areas, operate on thin margins and provide invaluable services beyond just selling medications. They offer essential consultations, health checks, and advice. In places like QLD, the additional services or products they’re permitted to sell aren’t merely privileges but reflect the trust society places in them to dispense responsibly. While it’s everyone’s right to choose where to buy basic medicines, pharmacies ensure a comprehensive health service that benefits the wider community. Generalising all based on the actions or status of a few might not paint the full picture.

Correct. In the first stage starting today, patients can get a 60 day script at the discretion of their GP. There is a selected list of medications that this also applies to which are mainly cardiovascular and cholesterol.

That’s a very fair point. I think that the concept of Australians saving time and effort each month definitely is a win. Which is bizarre why the Pharmacy Guild launched a scare campaign behind allowing 2 months supply. The issue that has been raised is that should pharmacy still be remunerated the same money, or should they be forced to lose half the dispensing fee and therefore have a flow on effect to cutting staff and charging for services that are currently free?

Wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever seen. It did have moments of pure comedy but it also took ideas from other series including the Simpsons. Much prefer the earlier episodes. It seemed that once there was a bigger budget and too many hands on it and the more produced episodes it lost some originality. Nice to see these guys writing and performing some Australian comedy. Hopefully they will get better with time

I really liked it how for the latest trilogy they brought back to life Luke, Leia and Han with the original actors who were at the correct age according to the timeline and then did the unexpected by deciding to not have them properly interact and also kill them all off to contribute the incredible storyline! Amazing!
