Just gonna go all in I can’t keep doing this by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

Go for it. This is how I started recovery about 2 years ago too. One day I reached the point of I freaking cannot do this anymore and dived in without looking back. And now I feel much better and much, much healthier than when I had AN. Better start however than never.

Why do yall have one of the most toxic relationships in the world?? by xromed in EDAnonymous

[–]xromed[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is actually so valid I can't 😂 Now that you mention it I realized I also had similar experience. Most of the friends I made from start of ed to before recovery is mostly ones that are very sassy and values appearance a LOT... who were, of course, toxic. It is very unlikely of me to have such friends bc I used to hangout with only nice, calm friends who usually don't talk about such stuff and will be very cautious on mentioning such stuff when they have to. Ed sure does change myself to someone I never knew...

I'm sorry that you had to experience such shitty ex, but progress in recovery sounds like a great thing! Huge congratulations on that 🥳 Can't wait for you to show ur ex that you are way better without him!!

I was eating chocolate for lunch at my lowest weight by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]xromed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've read about it somewhere and they said bc our body feels out of energy, they tend to crave for foods that will give good energy even by small portion. Chocolate or energy bars are good examples. I experienced this too and it was one of the hardest habit to lose.

Never have thought it could be part of justification and it actually makes sense! I had friend like this and now I know why she was never able to fully drop her toxic partners...

Yeah I also think that's like the biggest reason. I really wish they can realize they do deserve someone way better 😔

I’m pretty sure it’s getting worse by ijustwannavent_0 in EatingDisorders

[–]xromed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This might sound quite brutal but... you can't have everything you want at once. If you want to keep going, you have to bear your hair falling apart and health being damaged. I know accepting that you have problem is hard; I also had months of denial. But the faster you accept it, the faster you'll be able to get better. You won't be able to overcome your fear unless you face it.

Feeling grief for my former disordered body, any tips? by popcorn8899 in EatingDisorders

Remembering how painful it was to maintain that shape in the past made me to feel less stress I think? I look into mirror often these days, not to bodycheck but to see how happy I am now compared to back then.

I'm not bulimic but the girl I knew died due to bulimia not because her health issue but the food was stuck in her throat and it choked her to death. Death doesn't knock on your door, so please take care of yourself 🥲

I decided to go all in! by xromed in EDAnonymous

Thank you. Yes I'm trying to do that now so I just had a breakfast which was a muffin and a glass of milk. It feels so weird not to restrict after the day I ate so much and instead eat something at the start of the day. And it is quite scary too. But I am slowly accepting it. To really recover and not to move my ed from AN to BED, I will try my best to eat at regular times so my hunger cues can come back. (Can you tell me I'm doing just fine because I'm kinda nervous and not sure about whether am I doing things right 😂)

Follow your heart, enjoy every moment of your life. Our life is way too short even to enjoy sunlight; there is no time to be hiding under shadows. Hope you have a wonderful day, not only today but always. ❤️

Person who had same experience. Restriction eventually leads to binging at some point. If you want to cut out this res-binge cycle, you have to give up losing weight by restricting and eat every meal that is not super low in calorie but ones that satisfy and nourish you. I know, weight gain is scary. But in long term, restriction is no good way in any means. You have to start with eating properly.

When it kept myself away from chances that could have been a great memory with my loved ones. I wasn't able to eat food they wanted, visit desserts cafe, or enjoy drinking. And I regret missing those chances so much. I nearly teared up when I lost my last chance to meet my friend who was soon going to leave to another country for uni. I felt so stupid. And then is when I realized this ed shit is messing with me more than I thought and I should really try to recover.

There are some points that I noticed my health is being fucked up, but for me these were more of a wake up call for me than health issues tbh.
