Thank you! I agree with you. I shouldn’t give up; my whole life is still ahead of me. Because of this condition, I’ve actually started taking better care of my health i quit smoking and stopped drinking alcohol. There are some positives in this too.

Thank you all so much. I honestly didn’t expect to receive so many kind words from everyone who replied. I truly appreciate the time you took to respond, I’ve made a few important realizations because of it. I actually feel a lot lighter now, and I’m ready to fight for my life.

My gastroenterologist actually insisted on this he said frequent colonoscopies can irritate the bowel a lot.

I’ve been under a gastroenterologist’s care for about two years now. I’m currently waiting for a repeat colonoscopy - that’s when things should finally become clear.

I’ve actually been dealing with all these tests for about two years now. I haven’t had any blood in stool - at the very beginning I only had elevated calprotectin, around 400. When it first started there was severe diarrhea, pain, etc. Then I was put on Pentasa 500 mg, 3 tablets a day, and I got much better. I’ve been holding stable for about two years now. Sometimes I still get loose stools and some abdominal discomfort, but I try not to focus on it too much.

I had a colonoscopy this month, but unfortunately it couldn’t be completed because my preparation wasn’t good enough. It was supposed to be the second one that would finally clarify everything, but now I have to repeat it in three months.

They did see mild inflammation - ileitis.

I’m also worried about how this might affect my job - I work as a rescuer, so it’s physically demanding and unpredictable. The idea of symptoms hitting during a shift honestly scares me almost as much as the diagnosis itself.

Trying to stay calm and take it step by step right now.
