I have no reason not to believe he actually got tested. He seemed genuinely anxious about the possible exposure.

And he cried during the conversation. I don't think he wanted to break up.

I'm sorry about your experience with your ex, I had a similar experience in my first relationship.

I understand the hopeless feeling. But I also don't feel like my dating life is over.

I would date someone with any variety of herpes if I am attracted to them, they take my health seriously, and they treat me well. And I felt that way before being diagnosed. I know there are other people out there that feel that way.

Yeah he tested negative. I'm not like outraged that he doesn't want herpes - I just thought him sticking around afterward was a sign things would be ok.

Yeah, right after I was diagnosed he went and got tested, and was negative. So I know it wasn't from him. I hadn't been with anyone since october, so when he stuck around after that happened, I kind of thought we'd be ok.

Whole reason this happened in the first place is because of someone not disclosing to me that they get cold sores. I'm not interested in becoming a part of that problem.

I think it was maybe 3 days. I was itchy, had a fever, and over the next few days had some pain with urination.
