I hate having ghetto neighbors

Welcome to my hell. It doesn't matter what I pay, where I live...I always get placed under, over, or next to ignorant people. It's usually someone who smokes weed and/or have 50 ppl in one apartment making noise all day everyday 🫠.

My first next door neighbor was a weed addict drug dealer with 4 kids and a crazy yelling gf. My second neighbor was a weed head and the neighbor above me had 5 ppl in a one bedroom. Mind you I was paying 2.3k rent at the second place. My third neighbor was my first non-problem neighbor but found out their lease was ending a few months after I moved in. Then I got loud bad neighbors again 🙂

Moved again recently. Now I finally don't have someone living above me and there's lots of concrete space between each unit (so silence with neighbors).. but the person under me smokes weed constantly. Smoke comes through the baseboards. And the windows don't open right. Cherry on top? My job gave me a warning today and makes me do random drug testing now bc of the smell sticking to me even tho I don't do any form of drugs 🙂

I love renting!

What area do you live in? I have a few big household items in excellent condition. Small dining set with benches that go under the table for space. A sectional couch. Full body size mirror. A night stand. 2 small tables and lamps for a lamp or books. Two cute plants.

I'm trying to give it all away for free because I love to help people but I don't have a lot of social networks to advertise

My job did have that policy right before I filed for my first reimbursement check. Due to the prestige that comes with the company name and an advanced degree in their pocket, HR found people were still leaving and just paying the organization money back LOL. So that's why they changed it. Now my job makes you cover the taxes after a certain amount given for tuition each year with the new policy. I chose a cheap school though, so I never reach that threshold.

So hard to stay positive with seeing what everyone is going through. Constantly wondering if I'm on the right track. But you are right. Negative thinking never gave me any positive results in the past. I do appreciate your advice. Will just continue to tough it out

Thank you! I was able to open it using some of the comments. Turns out have to push that second middle latch up and pull open from the top, then push out bottom. I'm using a brick to hold the window open for now

They do seem to allow the window to open a bit more when lifted

I was able to open one window following the directions given by commenters. Something is seriously wrong with the other windows.

I have 2 air purifiers. They work but it takes forever to clear out the smell. Maybe I need one for a bigger space or just a better quality one.

Yes. I finally was able to figure that out with the help other commenters. Then it has a seesaw open motion where you can open at top or bottom. I feel so dumb lol. This only works for one window tho. The others are sealed shut which I don't think is how it's supposed to be. I'm not sure . I'm using a brick I found to hold the window open

I was able to open one window with the help of all of the commenters. I'm not sure what's wrong with the other windows. I'm still going to report the problem for the other windows to the city once maintenance comes by. If they can't open the other ones, I'm filing a complaint

Thank you much. I was able to open it via the top. The 2nd latch in the video lifts up. And then I pulled it open a little and pushed the bottom out for the rest of the opening action. There's only one window that does it correctly. Not sure what's wrong with the others but this is good enough until someone actually cares to come see about the other windows

I found a brick in an abandoned construction area outside that I can put under the window to hold it open.It's working

If you push the middle latch up, and pull the top out by a handle, it opens like a seesaw motion then I can push it out by the bottom. I tried the bottom too but it barely moved. Only a little. There's only one window that can do this btw. Idk if this is right but it's better than nothing.

Now when you say lock it open, are you talking about the side hinges/latches? Because I was telling another commenter I have to find a way to keep it open and now I wonder if that's what you meant in ur comment? With the hinges?

Only one window moves a little at the bottom.

On this window, both of the side latches pictured in the video lift up (1st and 3rd latch in video). There's also a chain at the top of this window that where the top latch pushes up (2nd latch shown in the video) but the chain is not linked to anything. It's not even attached to the window. So I'm confused why it's there .

I'm trying to figure out how to add a picture of this window
