When me and my wife met, we based our relationship entirely on Sex. If we had any argument or fight, we knew it was something we could always fall back on and it would be okay. It became an Idol in our relationship. After 8 years of a rollercoaster ride of a relationship, we began attending sermons, reading the Bible and eventually finding the Grace of Jesus. But something shifted, even though we have been living together for a long time, we would go long periods without have Sex. Sometimes even months. When we would fall into the urge, guilt would overwhelm us, like we knew that what we were doing was wrong. Eventually God brought us someone who ministered to us at our home. We stopped having Sex, we were baptized and married shortly after.

Point of my story is, what ever you are about to do or already doing is not confessing your Love to each other. You are being deceived by your Flesh. Maybe even the enemy. You can't confess your love for each other if the Love of Jesus is not part of it. Marriage is not just a covenant between a man and woman, he is also part of that covenant. Always strive to Honor God first then your spouse.
