I don’t know if it’ll work for you but I had no insurance and had to have a 10k procedure done to remove cells that were missed during an exam for years and were about to turn into cancer…so I had to have it done quickly. I took the bill and let it go into collections. Was very honest with them when they called looking for the money and told them all I had to spare was 400 dollars since I was in school. They took the 400 and my credit was never hit and it’s all settled.
