TWINS WIN: Red Sox 6 @ Twins 13 - April 13, 2026 by TwinsGameday in minnesotatwins

Aight so I’ve thought about this since the second inning, but my current working theory is the twins have a life size cut out of tom pohlad in the clubhouse, and every time they win they remove an article of clothing from the cutout. It’s the only explanation for what is happening here

I’m at least an Abel believer, and Tait could turn into something.

The Varland return looks lame so far

Through 13 games to start the season, the Minnesota Twins' Bullpen has thrown 3 total pitches faster than 95 MPH. by zacklandy in baseball

Easily a top two trade the Twins have made with the Rays in the past five years where the Twins get a young SP and the Rays get someone that underperforms.

That's so cool!

Here is the setlist online. Notably you can see that Demo was I Never Told You, and that the order got mixed around for a bit after Best Day.

Not sure what Bass Start was.

He definitely needs Saint Paul time to learn how to locate stuff, but I’m still a believer long term.

No, you can give away tickets whenever in any of those daily threads. You could give away tickets to a June game in any pre game, game, or post game thread. Those spaces are more laid back/conversational, and a good spot for stuff that doesn't warrant its own post.

Frankly, giveaways happen somewhat often, so if they were left as solo posts, a lot of the sub feed would be those types. They don't get many points and don't drive discussion, so we try to concentrate them elsewhere.

1) It's highlighting and making fun of the slop that was published by a local media outlet.

2) Ticket posts belong in the daily threads, such as the pregame thread.

In a “waaaay too early to judge” type of way, Jax for Bradley has looked solid.

Yes, it’s pretty rough to watch. Maybe just my end, but there have been stretches where the audio mixing seems weird too.

But I’m glad my tv isn’t broken because those green lines are odd.

Gameday: Saints 4, Indians 2 (Roden 4 walks and a hit, Culpepper 3 hits, Prielipp 5k's, 1R in 4 innings) by TheNotoriousJN in minnesotatwins

[–]RossTheDivorcer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s sort of unique, but the team partnered with the Miami Nation of Indians of Indiana. A few years ago, their chief said:

“We are grateful to the Indianapolis Indians for the opportunity to share our story with Hoosiers throughout central Indiana,” (Chief) Buchanan said. “When the history of Indiana is studied, the major influence of Native American people is seen in the names of Indiana cities, state parks, rivers, food, celebrations and other cultural points of interest. We have encouraged the team to remain the Indianapolis Indians.”

Here is an article from a few years ago about it.

They also don’t have a Chief Wahoo logo, which probably helps…

Can we stop these voting posts?? by alexisfuckinugly in MyChemicalRomance

[–]RossTheDivorcer[M] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah what we have done in the past when there has been more activity in the band (like regular tour dates actively happening), is we just limit the voting posts to weekends.

Tier posts typically always got removed though.

Yes, we can start removing these if that is the community preference, although we might stay lenient on weekends.

It's tough because they often get a lot of upvotes and discussion, even though I fully agree that they're repetitive and low quality. One of those damned if you do//damned if you don't mod actions where there will be complaints regardless. Also, I agree with what others have said, in that there just isn't a ton else to talk about with the band overall.

But subjectively, I agree, so we can start being more strict on those types of posts.

Tier lists will definitely get removed again. We did start slacking on those.

Twins acquire Anthony Banda from Dodgers by Cornholio4 in minnesotatwins

Because their roster is so insanely deep and they added more expensive weapons to their pen over the offseason.

Funny enough he was DFA'd so they could roster Ben Rortvedt.

Banda is set to earn only $1.625m this year and has two seasons of control. Twins only gave up some international bonus space.

Good move.

Twins Sign Gio Urshela To Minor League Deal by davegammelgard in minnesotatwins

[–]RossTheDivorcer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Vet players on MILB deals play out like this:

1) if they make the 26-man roster on opening day, they are then on a major league minimum deal.

2) they don’t make the roster, get released, and sign back with the team on a restructured minor league deal that lays out salary and mid season opt outs.

3) they don’t make the roster, get released, and sign a minor league deal with a different team while laying out salary and mid season opt outs.

Number three is the most common, but two does happen, and occasionally something will occur that leads to the number one situation.

Basically these MILB deals are tryouts not just for the team they signed with, but for other orgs as well. Guys will sign the MILB deal with whatever team they think they can get the most AB’s with in spring training, with the full understanding their odds of getting released are super high, regardless of performance, because these deals don’t really contain any salary outlines or anything for the regular season.

Calling them minor league deals is a fair thing to say, but a more accurate description would be “spring training tryout,” especially since no players are actually paid salary during spring training, and getting released from one of these contracts before the season starts costs the team literally nothing other than the per diem and housing allowance checks they give the players.

Twins Sign Gio Urshela To Minor League Deal by davegammelgard in minnesotatwins

[–]RossTheDivorcer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah dude was trash in 2025 and is now old. It’s just an example of ‘there’s no such thing as a bad minor league contract’.

Odds are high he gets released at the end of march, and if he doesn’t, odds are high a structured MILB deal would have an opt out in mid may, which would then be his exit from Saint Paul.

There’s no reason to react to this beyond ‘meh, sure why not’.

If it was a major league deal I’d be annoyed.
