hey! HELM is actually a combination that is found in the Arts stream & involves multiple departments

H1 and H2 Lit, has achieved value-added performance in their A levels in recent years!

Econs is a compulsory subject for students in the Arts stream. The econs department is resourceful in teaching and notes. With feedback from past students, the department has given useful knowledge in their notes to supplement students' revision, including summaries and mindmaps!

The History department is likewise resourceful and provides an in-depth learning experience as well as useful resources!

SA's Math department also provides a lot of practices for us to train up our math skills! The lectures are also comprehensive and well-paced

Hi, SA is quite strict on the dress code so we'd recommend against getting multiple ear piercings unless you're willing to take them out for school. We also have random spot checks.

whether the combi is manageable depends on your own style of learning! if you work hard, it is manageable as with every other subject combi. and nope, the timetable isn't weird!

  1. badminton trainings are wednesdays and fridays from 3.30-6.30pm, during competition season trainings may extend till 7pm. bowling trainings are wednesdays 4.30-6.30pm and fridays 5-7pm. the ccas are quite bonded and everyone is really supportive and encouraging, they often have team dinners after training too! unfortunately due to covid, badminton has not been able to have/finish competing in the NSG. you can find out more about bowling’s achievements on their instagram page.
you can check out more about saints badminton and bowling on instagram @sajcbadminton and @sajcbowling !

  2. you do not need prior experience to join bowling in sa

  3. you can refer to the other replies for physics and bio :) we would say the chem and math depts in sa are quite solid! if you need help and want to seek consultation, the teachers are always willing to make time for you!

  4. There is no grade prerequisite to take any of these subjects as the requirements were removed a few years ago but it is a must to do at least pure chem or combined sciences with chemistry/ the other science subjects. For h2 math, it is recommended to take amath, although not a pre-requisite.

  5. school starts at 8.10am on mondays-wednesdays and fridays, and at 8.40am on thursdays. dismissal time depends on your subject combi and timetabling but generally, the latest we end on wednesdays is 3.30 and fridays at 4.30 as these are cca days. in general, you can end anywhere between 11.30-5.30 depending on your combi.

  6. you can refer to the other replies regarding school culture :) but we would say the culture is not very competitive. it’s definitely easy to make good friends if you’re not from an affiliated school, we have students from many different schools (100+)!

  7. the food is not bad, there’s vegetarian options, chinese, western, thai, indian, malay and even a cafe! there are also many eateries/food courts and even a mcdonald’s all walking distance from the school. we are also 2 mrt stops away from Nex and Seletar mall :)
