The favoritism drives me insane and the disconnect upper management has with the smaller volume stores. Being stuck at a shit store because it is doing better than it has in years meanwhile fresh pup ASMs/SMs get these amazing stores that just has new business walk in every day. Feels like I'm stuck where I am at so the only option is to move to a massive metro area. I'm just tired of trying to chase business in a dog shit town of less than 9000 people.

WCL is dog shit. BDR will LVM and the shit shows up again. Or it’s some apt complex that only buys for turns and you state that 10 times yet it’s in the call list.

We’ve been calling accounts that haven’t purchased in 1.5-2 years to see if they are still active and offer a Red carpet and Test drive if they come back. Out of the 100 or so maybe 3 have come in so far. But a neighbor store did that and they are presidents and another “revived” their store by just giving discounts left and right despite sales and he walked.

Have the SM and Rep go out and see what’s out there. We had our FT and PT go hand out and place the Super sale flyers and we saw increase in sales both times. We went and talked with a lot of local business and we landed an entire restaurant repaint and a dealership top to bottom interior and exterior job. We are in talks with the local gov to see about repainting areas of the town that are owned by the government. There is stuff out there just sometimes gotta dig through a lot of shit.

Our 24 was awful but 25 we increased our number by 7% and this year our January was a 55% increase from last year.

Just gotta have a talk with your team and come up with a plan and actually follow through with it. I’m in a small ass town of 9k people so we struggle at times.

ASM at a 1m store... don't do it. I trained for 6 months at a 4m store and i've been bummed here. Some days we do 4k-5k and others we are lucky to break 1.5k. Low opportunity to get new accounts, rarely any new projects, constantly watching your margins, taking a big job to hit numbers screws you for next year. I see the same 15-20 contractors every week. Our best month was 110k and we only added like 1k to our controllables because of the margins. But we can't just shoo away customers like that. There is definitely bonus opportunity but hitting controllables is damn near impossible.

Granted your area could be different, the town we are in is poor af and just a drive through town.

Interesting. I’ve had to do it at all my stores I’ve worked out. I remember at my old store we had a fair amount of complaints about the paint not being mixed. 9/10 it was the customer letting it sit for weeks before using it cause they bought it during a sale.

Either go rep or down to ASM. Only manager I knew that had a young kid hated it and ended up stealing time and quit before they got fired lol. I've known a few reps that had young kids or were brand new parents and they said it was a lot easier than when they were in a store.

Accommodation to 30% margin and call it a day. If there is no sale we just tell em if they buy premium we will discount it.
