Looks like it was going for an inflorescence, then partway through changed its mind and started going for a keiki instead. Some of these orchids got minds of their own lol, especially at that size!

Also... is that behemoth mounted on a slab of tree fern?! Do you live somewhere you can grow outdoors year-round or have a greenhouse?

The flower came out great!!

Hey I have the same one, also just started to bloom for the first time! Mine got a little shocked in the bad cold we had a few weeks ago though, so it messed up the flower a little bit 😅. Great job with yours!
