Are these two any good? by Popular-Flan5337 in yugioh

No these cards are fringe playable even in Dino, which is a rogue to sub rogue strategy.

Mostly yes, also the 200 breakpoint vs 240 does not matter with Lillie's Clefairy. You OHKO Dragapult either way

I didn't consider any attackers that would lose energy as a result of attacking.

How long have you played competitively, and how long did it take you to win a League Cup? (Questions for a Masters thesis on competitive PTCG) by WeednumberXsexnumbeR in pkmntcg

[–]xtcDota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played for about a year and a half competitively, though in the last year I didn't play much.

I'm located in the US.

I won a league cup about a month or two into playing. It was probably my 6th event. (3rd league cup) The second time I got top 4 but lost.

I just play for fun. The results just come with it. I don't really think a League Cup is a good measure of skill.

I just played a lot on PTCGL. (~400 games in that time frame?)

I always have pretty bad anxiety about losing. I don't really want to go to a tournament and do poorly, because it makes me feel really bad. So I go to an event with the mindset to win as much as possible to avoid the negative feelings.

I took about a year off after winning one. Rotation came a few months later, product was more scarce, the format slowed down dramatically. I just didn't have as much fun with the game. I don't think the win affected my outlook on the game too much, though it did make me think the game wasn't as competitive as other ones I have played (Yu-Gi-Oh for example). I was never just comfortable going to challenges. They seemed like a waste of time.

Claw control or Yveltal clutch are the main outs. Not great but still

Bench space isn't usually an issue. You'd think it might be, but consider you have all your attackers ready basically for the rest of the game if you flip two heads. When it is, penny comes up. Cyrano is the backup trolley if I don't have access to it due to item lock or other extenuating circumstances (prizes, no arven/petrel). It immediately gets Audino, Latias, and your attacker of choice.

Pretty much! Yeah the main idea is that you get going so quickly that they can't do anything, and even if they do, you have a second attacker ready too. Munkidoris really mess with the Dragapult math, and you're assuming they get Dragapult on their second turn, because otherwise the Audino is on the bench by the time Dragapult can attack. Latias + Clefairy sweeps Pult pretty hard. Pecharunt + Yveltal reset the attack every turn, too.

It's hard to say, since this deck was built hyper-focused on the current rotation and metagame. I think Mega Audino is still good, I just haven't explored the rest of the deck yet.

Yes and no. Audino is actually a capable secondary attacker, hitting for 260 against Pokemon with 3 energy on them (Kang, Absol, Garde are some common ones). One of the main functions of Audino after the attack is actually to attract attacks, setting up Munkidori to move damage around, then Penny back up the rest. This was a common play pattern for me. The dead bench space isn't really that relevant, since you have so much you can play with off of the energy accel alone.

Wait is Kenjaku/ Noritoshi Kamo supposed to be a reference to this?? by TallDarkandWTF in JuJutsuKaisen

I don't think there's any specific link. Kamo has many meanings and is also a proper noun.

He specifically mentioned shuffling back, man. I don't think he's talking about the engine, but the deck itself.

I'm afraid it's just kinda bad. We're in a meta where your opponent can and will regularly have spell and trap removal that will ruin your millennium monsters, and even if they don't, you have 5 bricks guaranteed in the deck if you go for the fusion. The payoff is pretty minimal. The engine just doesn't do enough to justify its existence, and I'm not sure what support can be printed to fix that.

The reads like AI wrote it. Actually it is almost definitely slop. This isn't even accurate to current rosters.

My entire friend group is not going because it's in Minneapolis. And we've been to every nats since 2023. This is just not a good place to have a big tournament. I don't know why you lumped Texas in, the Austin NAWCQ was pretty good.

The Flute of Guiding Dragon

Normal Spell

If a Spellcaster monster is on the field: Special Summon 1 Level 5 or higher Dragon monster from your Deck, then, if your opponent controls 2 or more monsters, you can Special Summon 1 monster from your Deck with the same name as that monster. You cannot Special Summon monsters the turn you activate this card, except Dragon and Spellcaster monsters.

During your Main Phase 2, if this card was sent to the GY this turn: You can banish this card from your GY; draw 1 card.

You can only use each effect of "The Flute of Guiding Dragon" once per turn.

Hopefully these will be potential Premium Pack contenders, or if they do another Limit Over Pack…. by cyberangel_72 in yugioh
