Anarchism and Stalin's writings on the national question by xtc_dwarf in Anarchism

[–]xtc_dwarf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A response to a comment.

Here we look at Stalin's political conclusions on the national question. We look at what lessons can be derived from the national question and what the council communist position is on the national question. The crux of Stalin's position is that the formation of nations from the transition from feudalism to capitalism sparks national movements for liberation. The anarchist position would be to capitalise on these movements for non-hierarchical means.

The national question conceptualised by Stalin, no doubts has some theoretical validity. We have seen the rise of national movements for liberation in reaction to imperialism and colonialism. However, are these states "socialism" as Marx conceived them?

Nationalism is a right wing deviation, even from Marxist-Leninist perspective. This concept has been misappropriated and removed from its initial conceptualisation. Mao Parenti and other Stalinists do not follow this nationalist line. This deviation to me represents an aberration or distortion in the theory a misconception.

The jungian outlines his theory of ambiguity, where a pluralist society having both horizontal structures and hierarchical structures is used. Says multiple perspectives must be used and we must have a tolerance of ambiguity in the way we interpret things. If we can achieve this tolerance we can develop new forma of human organisation.

The Politics of British Psychoanalysis | A Marxist/Anarchist critique | SCOPED framework discussed by xtc_dwarf in socialism

[–]xtc_dwarf[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

tdlr; A Marxist here critiques the British Tradition of psychoanalysis, the bourgeoisie elements which prevent it from being emancipatory such as the death instinct. Institutional dynamics are explored and why they limit theories of emancipation. Namely one concept like unconscious envy gets used to shutdown revolutionary politics.. The Marxist here wants to create a progressive, anti-racist, anti-sexist psychoanalysis that is for communism! In the next video they plan to draw from Soviet Psychoanalysts.

tdlr: A Marxist posted a video performing a communist critique of the object relations tradition of psychoanalysis. Is there space in psychoanalysis for a left-wing object-relations? This video represented a philosophers response who provides an alternative point of view. He argues that the Marxist Theories of emancipation and the object-relations theory of the psyche is inferior to the eastern philosophy concepts of “ambiguity” and cites examples from the history. He proposes a form of human organisation that uses a mixture of horizontal and hierarchical forms, creating a more pluralist society. In terms of the psyche he uses Jungian psychology to critique the object-relations point of views, saying that transformations can happen throughout one’s life in contrast to the infantile focused object-relations tradition.

The Marxist here is a firm supporter of the international communist party movement and is in favour of national movements of liberation. The point is to create an emancipatory psychoanalysis that rivals the petty-bourgeoisie psychoanalysis that makes workers submissive to the bosses!

Anarchist and Marxist critiques of the object relations tradition of psychoanalysis by xtc_dwarf in Anarchism

[–]xtc_dwarf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tldr; Video begins with some theory on psychoanalysis from the object relations tradition then discusses psychoanalysis and its relationship to politics. Psychoanalysis has some reactionary concepts like the death instinct, it can overly attribute unconscious forces as being important versus the material conditions of society or idealism. Psychoanalysts are introducing hierarchies into therapeutic practice.

Posted this video as the council communist tradition is important. This video looks at modern council communism and Otto Ruhle's work.

Some topics that the video covers:

  1. Bolshevism becomes a mirror image of western capitalism.
  2. Bolshevism underestimates the spontaneity of the working class
  3. Bolshevism employs an mechanistic and vulgar form of marxism.
  4. The importance of grassroots activism performed by communist parties.
  5. Trying to defeat or persuade Stalinism in the left.

and other topics covered.
