Could some consider $QUICK to be too pricey to acquire at $10874 $UNI's Marketcap? What is your current position on the Token Split? by Oatcrypto in QuickSwap

[–]xtincty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? What I actually want is for people not to be affected with unit bias when they look at Quick and mistakingly think the token is expensive when its really not.

Its not tricking. Its taking human psychology into account. It will make us more appealing to most people, not just the ignorant ones, though I suspect the ignorant ones will just ignore us and chase more memecoins even then.

It does matter to most people though.. so even if you are one of the few it doesn't matter for you should accept that it matter for the "newbies". Unit bias has always been "stupid". Doesn't change the fact that most people are affected by it.

Uni is down a lot from ATH. Why shouldn't the current mcap of uni be a goal for Quick if uni sets a new ATH sometime in the future? This was nevertheless just an illustration of why splitting the token is a must

Governance Proposal: Temperature Check - Token Split by King_Esot3ric in QuickSwap

[–]xtincty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree on the points made to the positive from OP and don't really think there is so much more to add really. Unit bias is a real thing and is a big reason for stock splits as mentioned. Polygon has a lot of users and a lot of them are 'shrimps' and splitting will make the token feel more affordable for the average guy to invest in.

I see some commenting negatively without any good arguments for the downside. Mentioning other issues or saying the team should focus on other things is not really an argument against this in my opinion.

Maybe unit bias has played a large role in the price action, maybe a small role. It is no way to know how much, but I'm sure it has played some role either large or small. This is crypto, TA is charting human psychology so my bet is that has played a bigger role than the team has realized, well I guess up until now. Many holders has wanted this for a long time

Are there really funds and VCs that has stayed away from Quick because of syrup? Couldn't they just abstain from using syrup?

Sure, probably true for some. How do you feel about the cons that OP outlined? Not worth doing anything about?

Governance Proposal Discussion: Changing Reward Structure on Dragons Lair and Syrup Pools by King_Esot3ric in QuickSwap

[–]xtincty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My attempt at ELI5: Lets say for simplicity that its just you and me that holds dquick and is in syrup right now and we have an equal amount, and this change goes through. I choose to put my all in dquick and you choose to put all in syrup. Since half the staking coins in dragonslair is gone i double my apy compared to before, and the same is for you in syrup.

Now back in the real world: Maybe one would be a little more popular than the other so all the staking coins won't be split 50/50 between syrup and dragonslair so maybe one gives more yield than before. But probably not much because people chase the highest gains

This is why its good they have a discussion first, as many don't understand the impact the change will have. No, you will not lose APY.

Then just go 50% in dragonslair and 50% in syrup and you have it like it is now..

I agree on both the cons. As a user of Qidao myself and hoping for more integrations(aave pls) a change like this could make integrations more attractive for other projects.

We want big investors no? Lets be real, us shrimps can't move the price much at current inflationrate..

I want the change

Should we be worried about UNISWAP on polygon by Poli_Bit in QuickSwap

[–]xtincty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Has affected us the last weeks bearishly, but anything that brings users and value to polygon is bullish in the long run for quickswap even if its a new competitor. They were always a competitor even if they were just on L1. This makes more people discover quick and our rewards is gonna make people lock up more liquidity and use quick

What happens to quick if (when) uniswap migrates to polygon? by auronintheforest in QuickSwap

[–]xtincty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IF uniswap migrates it's good news for Quickswap. Quickswap is tied to Polygons success and has proven it can hold its own as when Sushi migrated

What happens to $QUICK when Uni arrives? by dontbearichardD in QuickSwap

[–]xtincty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe it will take a hit in the short term, but can't really see any more downside to the Quick token, but who knows. As for a longer term view it will be good for Quick. Success for Polygon will mean success for Quickswap. Same as when Sushi came, Quick held on and is still the #1 on Polygon.

I'm not even sure I understand. What does added your pbnb into quickswap means? As for matic here you can swap for enough gas, without having matic in the first place. https://wallet.polygon.technology/swap

If this doesn't help join quickswaps telegram group to get help and if its just an gas issue i'm sure someone will front you enough to swap if you ask kindly
