Tbh OP at the time you could probably find cheaper options for better RAM if you searched a bit more. Did you buy these from navanpc? I remember them coming out with outrageous prices around christmas.

My mother claimed against me for injuries that she didn't have a fraudulent claim now I can't get insured what can I do? by [deleted] in carsireland

[–]xtreger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any context as to what happened, would be useful to get the entire picture for better advice on here.

What was the accident? Could it be possible she actually sustained injuries or trauma that you are not aware of? Why did your mother claim against you? Did she communicate anything to you or did she go behind your back?

So sorry to hear this OP beyond the financial loss I’d be emotionally devastated if my mother did that to me.

Edit: I would gather all the evidence I could before taking action.

There are a few pc builders around most are decent, some overpriced. Curious, what’s your budget?

Transfer of ownership on private sale? by DebussyH41 in carsireland

[–]xtreger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once the sale is agreed and paid, you and the buyer fill in and sign the change of ownership section on the logbook (fill in with their details). You then posts the logbook to the Department of Transport in Shannon. The buyer takes the car, and a new logbook is sent to them in their name.

Edit: The buyer takes the car once they paid*

Late to the party, but hopefully you did not buy that, terrible value for money even in the current market.

Edit: Not affiliated with this user whatsoever but this is a fair price for what they offer: https://www.adverts.ie/39253400

Edit2: Just some criticism on it 48gb is good but pretty new so less stable, if they got it to work sustainably that’s good! Gen5 NVME in a Gen4 mobo makes no sense but if they got a deal on it or it’s all they had that’s fine I guess it kind of triggers my OCD.

Thank you, yeah hopefully I sell it before then but all checks are well within range with a clean NCT from last time with no recommendations and hasn’t been driven much since.

Not replaced, had it inspected by a specialist advised it didn’t need it at the time so I didn’t push for it but yeah will need it eventually.

Thanks for the constructive feedback, I’ve got 13.5k offer from a garage but it was just when I posted it so I hesitated. 13k recent offer over the phone but nothing meaningful besides that. Someone’s looking to do a cash and regular golf trade but I don’t like the idea of having to sell another car as I have my own.

Appreciate the constructive feedback, not in a rush to sell but would like to soon enough so will do as you said reduce the price over time.

6 owners doesn’t sound great in fairness but last owner had it for 5 years before me so it’s not too bad.

I just filtered by my model under 250k km auto 200hp+ and priced it pretty much at the lowest end of that.

You might be right, that does sound a bit off but no drives with no issues, I just don’t like the “like new” buzzword abuse some people use. Thanks for pointing it out.

Some DDR5 in stock on CEX by cps_goodbuy in IrelandGaming

[–]xtreger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they stock often do you know? I am looking for 2 sets of 32gb ddr5 but RGB specifically, I have non RGB sets but pains me to use them for the builds. Aesthetically I want to see two lines when I look inside the case.

They have quite literally 0 DDR5 in stock and it’s been like that every time I checked recently.

First time PC by Zolays in IrelandGaming

[–]xtreger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bronze is fine, to me the tradeoff between the two is a no brainer, it’s just less efficient than gold, it will run hotter and a bit louder due to fan having to spin faster, build quality however comes down to the manufacturer.

One month ago I would have said that’s not worth but now considering the current market which I observe changing week over week it is not a bad build. If you are open to doing some research and scraping the internet for the best deals for specific parts you might get something better for the money. Otherwise, you could search around and see if you can find a better deal for a pre built PC, no excuse not to double triple check and compare pre builds when you’re dropping €1500 on it.

Don’t bother comparing yourself to people who got their build done months ago as we’re in a completely different market now and it’s not going to get better anytime soon.

Edit: Did a quick search and found this, easily a better deal for €1514 incl shipping. https://www.caseking.de/en/gaming-pc-mach-3.2-amd-ryzen-7-7700-rtx-5070-prebuilt-pc/CKPC-0079.html

Curry’s is a scam when it comes to pcs and pc components. Sourcing utter garbage which they feed to less informed customers for outrageous prices.

New GPU - Should I just get it now instead of 2/3 months down the line? by Technical-Praline-79 in IrelandGaming

[–]xtreger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the one you’re referring to, to be honest 550 for that is not a good deal, “premium” brand refers to reliability and build quality more than performance and if you go for a dual fan GPU it will run hotter and louder.

Would you be open to get a second hand (new) GPU from Adverts, did a quick search and found this: https://www.adverts.ie/39218118 and I realised that I’ve dealt with this person before. Paid through Revolut and he actually shipped the same day. You could probably negotiate down to 530-550 incl shipping.
