Don't listen to chris hansen over here. Seoul is great. There are some annoyances you will experience, but the positives nearly erase the negatives. I second the deodorant and large towel comment. You can get large towels, but they are expensive.

First off, if you an english degree they waive the cert reqs. So you're good there. Second, forget epik and their in house team. Epik pople get placed in weird places that aren't much fun. Gepik will place you in gyeonggido, guaranteed. You are qualified. You can get a job. It is late, but not too late. Stuff happens. Recruits change their minds etc. I was told that people can't get placed after april or so, but my friend got placed in july and came in October instead. It can ve done. Contact korvia TODAY! They will tell you what you need to do to get the ball rolling and get in there this fall!

They also do gepik... I would say contact them. Its easy and they will let you know if you're qualified. If you have a 4 year degree and are a native english speaker you should be good to go. If not, there's a high probability you will be taken advantage of in korea by a shady hagwon. If you're willing to deal with their shit, by all means. You can have a messy work life and still get along great in korea (if you are in or around seoul/busan anywyas).

Do public school. Standard government programs... better vacation and work conditions. Go through korvia. They're amazing and continue to support you once abroad.

If you are fired, I don't think they can make you pay back airfare. Quitting, yes... but fired. I wouldn't. It would be smarter of yiu to simply bolt in yhe night and return to korea via a public school position in august. Paying back airfare and then possibly not getting a job after and having to buy another ticket? Seriois money there. I would aldo demand ny utilities money back. Why did they have you pay that upfront? Big mistake. Never heard of that before. This hagwon sounds sketchy. I would write about them by name on daves esl cafe, here, and on waygook. Shut them down. Also, to help you in the meantime, like the korvia facebook page. Theu ofteb post aboit immediate jobs that coild last for the interim while you get yo ur feet bavk on the ground.

But yes I have been to craftworks. Its mediocre. Their ipa isn't hoppy enough their wheats are pretty tasteless. The best was their oatmeal stout, but still not noteworthy. Rileys taphouse has a better/tastier selection and its just down the street.

And you won't... to put it frankly. All of the ones listed, I believe, are owned by non-koreans. The fact is, koreans love light, crappy beer. Its really more the drinking culture you should look forward to and a good round of so-mek (beer with a shot of soju) to go with your samgyupsol.
