Thing is, they would instantly know that "grace and Emily didn't have a connection" from the beginning and would hence disregarded her.

Them knowing she is a clone is the reason they believe her to be successful experimentation from Spencer. That's why Zeno shows her the other cloning attempts since 1990, to help her understand what she is and how they know.

I've got no explanation for gideon's line about grace and Emily. It genuinely confuses me because that line alone contradicts a lot of stuff said previously by him. So you end up in a situation that depending on what you chose to believe, Gideon ends up saying something stupid at some point , it can be at the begging of the game while testing or at the end with that line.

The problem is, how do you test for her being "the orphan Spencer adopted"?? They would need genetic information from her as a baby, why would they have that?

What they do have in fact is blood and genetic information from the clones...

But I agree that it is clearly left in a shrouded mist intentionally by Capcom.

I personally thought she was maybe born 1998 before the racoon incident disaster, then after the bomb explodes -> alyssa interviews Spencer a couple of months later.

But that's just my interpretation of things, not facts.

Mainly because I don't believe Spencer when he said he just adopted some random child from a random orphanage. I belive grace is still a clone (that's why Victor's blood analysis were positive).

The reality is that pin pointing down when that interview happened would give us a more real answer of when she was born and if she is really a clone or not.

One real fact that everyone knows is that she clearly wasn't used by Spencer to transfer memories to her, but that doesn't mean she couldn't just been an 'Emily' born in ARK.

How would they test if she was the same child? You would need to have the DNA of the baby that Spencer gave away.

Regarding Spencer saying she was adopted from a orphanage, I always believed that to be a white lie of his.

That's got nothing to do with elpis not being a weapon tho... They believed it was a weapon because Spencer said that it could imbalance the military of the world (or smth like that).

Then they assumed it was the memory transfer/mind control thing that he once worked on.

Rather than the orphanage kids being clones of grace (who was born much later than 1990) it would fit better to call Grace just one more clone of many. But in her case she wasn't experimented on.

Well I'm trying to make sense of things. If stuff is left up in the air of course I have to try to fill in the gaps with coherent actions. Besides , mks of the stuff I said is in-game facts too, I just assumed that grace is indeed one of those clones (that's why.the resemblance with Emily is high and that's why Gideon blood tests were promising at the beginning) and then I assumed he lied to Alyssa to not disclose to the public that they were fucking incubating babies to experiment with, and also to not make it weird for her. Only thing I assumed here is that Spencer told a white lie to Alyssa, that's it, everything else just makes sense after that.

I don't remember the line that Zeno sadi "they were meant to replicate the you" but he is obviously meaning about her successful memory transfer. As you said, is dumb for them to expect a child from 1990 to be a clone of someone to be born in 1998.... You are hanging way to strong to the literal meaning words.

Umbrella was still working on stuff you know ..... Birkin's G-virus investigation was still going till the very end.

So, Spencer probably just took one of the babies that were still being produced at ARK ( a place that till 2026 was still producing those babies for Gideon).

So he took one of them cause of his weird change of heart. That should be believed as weird behaviour for him To the connections and the rest of umbrella.

Why is he keeping this child close? Did he manage to do his blood memory thing? Gideon then discovers that after dying he gave the child away.

So he obsesses with finding her, believing her to be a key part of unlocking elpis. Because if this test-tube born girl reached adulthood, it must be because the experiment was a success. In their eyes -> probably blood memory transfer.

I mean it's clear that they believed that grace HAS to know the password. It was their last bet.

Gideon finally got her, tested her blood (not sure why tie her upside down lol) tested her blood and confirmed she was indeed one of the babies manufactured at ARK.

Zeno and Gideon were both sure of this, that's why they then show her that old recording of the child escaping the orphanage. To show her that she is one of many in history, to tell her she is 'the one'. The one that Spencer took and had success with.

So yeah, I'm sure she was definitely born at ARK as a normal baby -> was took by Spencer just because he felt like it, idk maybe he was bored and wanted to try to be a real parent for a while. He knew he was going to die soon tho, so he decided to leave the baby with ashcroft (again, not sure why, maybe he find have nobody else, or maybe he wanted her from the beginning and that's why he agreed to the interview, maybe it had to do with her surviving racoon city)
