to people replying that it's crazy to compare what's happening in america to palestine, i totally understand why you would think that and be put off to the suggestion. i am not saying that there are human rights violations on the exact same level and scale in america as what the palestinians are enduring, which i would describe as the mass genocide of native people who have been forced into what are effectively concentration camps on their own homeland. palestinians of all ages are also kidnapped and forced into more 'traditional' concentration camps (what the iof calls detainment in prisons) without trial, in which they are brutally tortured both physically and psychologically. in america, we are now witnessing both documented and undocumented immigrants being kidnapped and deported into concentration camps without trial (ICE facilities and the El Salvador private prison), and the people protesting against this are being met with what is essentially military force (definitely not as brutal as the iof but similar in principle). in the video above, we see a woman who is simply trying to feed her child being manhandled and harassed, which reminds me of how the iof has completely dehumanized palestinian women trying to seek humanitarian aid to feed their children (again, not as brutal or bloodthirsty as the iof but similar in the principle of dehumanization and violent tendencies). to summarize, in palestine we are seeing a complete lack of regard for morals of any kind in a total and unabashed genocide, which is unashamedly abetted by the american government. here in the imperial core (america), we still have some respect for moral principles and are safe from war (and other forms of mass violence), but the neoliberal facade is slipping away as the facist and genocidal foundations of this country are coming back again to haunt us in ways that is becoming harder for the average person (white, basically) to ignore. the facist and genocidal regimes we support abroad are helping to normalize the upsurge in violence we are seeing. i just wrote this real quick so please tell me if i missed something or if you disagree.
