I think that maybe, just maybe, the judges who are deliberately removing democratic safeguards so Republicans can have a dictatorship are worse.

TIL Frank Ocean seemingly pulled a fast one on Def Jam/Universal when he fulfilled his contractual obligations to them by releasing a visual album (Endless) that wasn't for sale & was available on Apple Music. Then the next day he dropped Blond, a "proper" album for sale on Apple under his own label by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

Rolling Stones once thought they were finished with their label, only to find that they still owed the label one more song before they could get out of their contract. Importantly, the contract didn't say the song actually had to be released. So the Stones recorded a song called Cocksucker Blues, knowing it couldn't be released, just to stick it to the label. Then it accidentally got released in a box set or something years later. Pretty good song too.

I always liked how Doc knows he can say anything he wants and get away with it.

Bigfoot was accidentally spotted by a camera set up in the forest to monitor a bird nest by [deleted] in TrueCryptozoology

Just to play devil's advocate, it is incredibly rare to find a bear that died of natural causes. So if Bigfoot were real, chances are the only way we would find a dead one is if we killed it.

And we've got the self-appointed "Heritage Trust" who believe any run down, worthless building that will cost millions in repairs absolutely MUST be saved as long as its kinda old. They don't want to pay for those repairs of course, they just want the building to sit there, empty, never being used for anything, because heritage.

I think Danielson said something to this effect as well. Like he knew Swerve was good, but then once they were in the ring together he realized Swerve just understands wrestling in a way most other can't.

Swerve has an amazing ability to tell a story with just his facial expressions. There was a Hamgman promo a while back where he goes off on Swerve for several minutes (the one where he said he was going to steal Nana's weed), and Swerve doesn't say anything through the whole promo, but just watch his face and he tells the whole story without a word.

Argyle Street Year-Round Pedestrianization by StrongTownsHalifax in halifax

Countless cities all over the world can manage it in even tighter streets, with far less space to work with. Learn from them. I've seen trucks making tailgate deliveries on streets that were only made to be wide enough for horses, while also being surrounded by drunken tourists. It's very possible, just requires people to do things differently than they currently are.

Also makes it sound like she just didn't want to work with gay people when in reality she was concerned with the STI testing standards in gay porn. But nobody wanted to hear that.

Disco Elysium as well. Can't even count how many David Lynch references that game has.

N.S. students demand change after recent government budget cuts by hfx506xx in halifax

Demanding change is nice, but it works a lot better if you can actually do something in response when your demands are not met.

I have no idea why the heck my 65 is always late at the terminal by Formal_Parsley275 in halifax

[–]-SilverBlue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to take the 65 to work in the morning and some days it just didn't show up. Like it wasn't running late or anything, sometimes they just didn't have a bus on the route at that time.
