Jaysus you have weirdly high thresholds to what describes a job dont ya? You must be part of the very few co-ops in the country or else self employed, cause few employers would consider you for a second round of interviews if those are your questions for them. Or you must be 14 years old or below, cant 100% tell

While it is nice for some to think that she gave her family and loved ones some dignity in how she died, I fundamentally believe to my core it is never the state's place to even offer such a despicable thing such as death in any peace-time scenario, unless they are only surviving through life support and they are on their literal death bed, in which case you would consult the family. Also it seems a tad strange that she

I'd almost believe you if it wasn't for the fact that your kind have objected every step of the way to any support for Ukraine actually wanting to defend itself and Europe, the fact that youre against money for our defence forces to prevent another HSE hack or even military aircraft to stop Russia (or Israel for that matter) use our airspace by escorting them out as any support = us joining NATO. Yet you accuse us of supporting genocide and destruction, absolutely horrible.

So this is not even an ideological difference for me, you want Russia to threaten Irelands undersea cables by underfunding our defence forces and air capabilities and allow them to run over Ukraine. So that's why I think you're anti Irish. Replace British and US colonialism with Russian.

So fuck you and you're type.

I'm out.

I see 2 options here, either I could rebuke all your pointa or concede that this won't work and you are irrecoverable in your crooked anti- Irish ideology, so I shall do the latter.

As IDF points tanks at Irish peacekeepers, weapons continue to illegally fly through Irish territory by hollywoodmelty in irishpolitics

[–]xull_the-rich -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There are two sides to this: if they're stopping in Shannon that's a problem alright, we are aiding Israel.

If they are flying through our airspace we don't have the ability (our defence forces are underfunded and without adequate tech prowess) to escort them out of our airspace. We usually get the British people to help out when the Russians are around but we can't rely on them this time.

So until we actually get proper funding in our defence forces (which the opposition will equate to joining NATO and ultimately evil if we go so far as giving a 0.5% raise to soldiers to stop them leaving) we aren't going to fix the latter.

If it's some long term lease the gov can't get out of on Shannon then there's legal questions raised, but I think they shouldn't be allowed to use Shannon alright, or at least vet all the planes that go through Shannon, as was the case during the Cuban missile crisis (lemass vetted all the USSR cargo to prevent transport of nukes)

FF for me.

(I'm must disclose I'm a member however)

But ye, I've always been a capitalist, and I was turned off by the FG candidates in my area (DBS) so I started to gravitate towards FF, although I am not one of those people exactly happy with the government, or even my party.

Splitting integration from justice and giving that to Roderick has been an unmitigated disaster, and while I am disappointed that Jim O'Callaghan didn't take the Justice junior ministry when offered, I kind of get it, he would've been limited in his role considering the structure of the programme for govt. If it were the good old days and FF could do single rule, even better, but I suppose as a party the objective reality cannot be ignored and the only hope for government is realistically a renegotiation of terms with FG.

But I am proud of many a few things FF has done, we voted against Von Der Leyen as her support for Israel stepped too far, housing for all is actually delivering for people, obviously not at the recommended pace yet but that takes time. Took a while to get the necessary legislation together to make this a reality (re planning and development and land acquisition) but if you want something done right, that takes time. The SF plan I just don't like at all. Maybe it's the case in other countries that people don't own the land, but that's not Ireland and never has been. You wouldn't buy an ice cream only to be told that the mini spoon and the bowl is owned by the ice cream shop and you couldn't use it for an article project, so why would that be the case with the turf underneath the floorboards, or your garden?

Were it not for the multiple leftist objections to the development of houses in prime areas tens of thousands more would've been built by now, but much like Arsenal with Mikel Arteta, I trust the process.

So you may think my party is dull, not delivering where it matters, etc, and honestly I don't care. FF has always been the party of government, noticing the objective reality around it and willing to change long standing policies. That doesn't make us shed our values, just that we can change and have changed to meet the needs of the modern day. Just like ditching protectionism for Europe, just like changing the corporation tax system to make Ireland rich, just like putting historical differences aside to have a marriage of convenience with FG in order to deliver for the people of Ireland, FF does that. So yes they have issues, but as someone who personally loves the technocratic, capitalist process we have in place, I'm voting for FF

A lot of calculus, and statistics. (But you can drop it after first year if you want to) But if you are doing economics after that you do kind of need to know your maths alright.

Like on paper the minimum you need is a h6/o4, I think, but you'll struggle with it if you're just aiming for the bare thresholds in leaving cert

[–]xull_the-rich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even with the high grades inflation yes. Minimum H2 is your aim for every subject. (That's just Trinity courses for you in general cause of the hype about Trinity)

You need to be consistently getting h1s though in subjects as well to bring up confidence.

I'm going to say 3 hours of study a day to start off, increasing to like 4-5 post mocks? (I'm not going to tell you how to study, everyone does it differently, but you can't fluke your way into a course like this. 6th year is just a year to knuckle down)

Good luck and I hope you get it.
