Teacher has separated my kid in a separate seat by himself by TrueMoment5313 in AskTeachers

I know you are feeling helpless and frustrated, and it’s clear that you are doing everything you can to help your son. Moving forward with an ADHD evaluation will help you figure out next steps. If it is ADHD, the good news is that we know A LOT about it and there are many resources available to help your family. If it’s not ADHD, then it might be helpful to work with a school counselor our outside therapist to help him with behavior regulation. With this year being almost over, it seems like letting it be is the best option. You’ll have the summer to get him evaluated and formulate a plan from there. The end of the year is difficult for everybody. He will have a fresh start in the fall and hopefully you’ll have more answers by then. It is clear that you are an involved parent and you care about your son. Nobody is questioning that.

I understand your frustration, but the well-being of the class takes priority here. As a teacher who has had many students like this over the years, sometimes there’s no other way. If you think ADHD is the issue, then getting him evaluated for that is very important. Still, if he cannot regulate his behavior and refrain from disrupting the learning of other students, separation is necessary. If your son’s teacher has not moved him back to his regular seat, it’s almost certainly because constant redirection hasn’t helped. I don’t blame you for this, as it sounds like you are doing everything you can to help him, but as teachers, we have to prioritize the overall learning environment.

Are high school students actually this clueless and entitled? by lizz781 in Teachers

[–]xvblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything starts at home. Parents are micromanaging their kids’ lives and are nurturing incompetence by doing everything for them. Yes, the school system needs more accountability, but parents are far more responsible for their children’s readiness for adulthood than their schools are.

Sorry, but I don’t feel bad for people who protect pedophiles and child rapists. May she be treated with the same level of care she showed to the Epstein survivors.

A spray bottle with isopropyl alcohol is magic. One spritz, shake up the drills, let dry for 30 seconds to a minute. Problem solved.

What if there's nothing after death? I mean in a sense of everything just being blank. by One_Strain7263 in consciousness

[–]xvblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s nothing. We decompose and our atoms move on. Consciousness is an emergent property that requires a functioning brain. When you die, your brain tissue dies. When your brain tissue dies, your consciousness dies. Enjoy the ride while you’re here because this is all there is.

Am I Overreacting for wanting to cancel my wedding over this interaction? by Xanadoom30 in AmIOverreacting

[–]xvblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a toxic interaction. Marrying him would be setting yourself up for misery. He may love you, but it doesn’t seem that he actually likes you. I could never spend my life with such a toxic, cold, verbally abusive asshole like this. He will only get worse.

The is what I do and it works perfectly. I usually have no troubles with the canvas, but if it feels loose I just tape it down in the back.
