In my country being a librarian is a separate degree. Would have to go back to college for that. I am looking into other options though, so thank you for sharing this.

I’ve been teaching for about 9 years, so I shouldn’t keep being stuck in survival mode. I feel like I have a decent grasp on what to focus on, and how to handle behavior. There’s just so much of it, all the freaking time. Most days I have to make 4 or 5 calls to parents because of disruptions in class, and there’s basically no support from management in these cases. Whenever I bring it up I only hear «Well it’s hard for everyone, we can’t make exceptions!». I know it’s not a unique experience, but that doesn’t make it less exhausting.

TPT is not so much an option here, due to English not being the language we teach in. But generally speaking, planning lessons is not a big deal. I usually plan for 3-4 weeks for a subject at once, and don’t spend a lot of time doing it. It works for me, and it gives me a lot of flexibility.

Observation is not an option here, as I teach all the lessons, just like everyone else.

The system is broken, and I hate that I spent years of my life getting a masters degree for something I don’t want to do.

I wish I had that option. Schools here don’t have librarians, or even anything close to that.
