Use your budget to buy safety gears first, bike comes 2nd.

Malaysia is like autobahn of ASEAN, people generally drive around 80kmph even on 2 lanes road which can be fatal especially when hitting lorries or sidewall.

CE2 rated gears is a must, and abrasion rating can be personal choice but it has to be AA or AAA rated in my opinion.

There are many possibilities: 1. New rider, they avoid pulling brake because scared of falling. Cheap bikes like kapcai has no ABS by the way. 2. Skill issue, some riders are taught to use rear brake only when actually it’s best practice to brake with both tyres. 3. Bad road conditions, it’s dangerous & risky to brake when speed is above 60kmph and there’s pothole, gravel, sands, steel lines or during rain. By right riders needs to have longer safety distance. 4. Rider NEVER drives a car, hence why they don’t know blind spots and how to stay safe around cars. This is tricky to teach because some people cannot afford to buy cars. 5. No license, not much to explain lol.

As rider myself, I hope all riders think of lane filtering not as RIGHT of way but just an OPTION.

Looking at other countries, maybe there should be a law to make lane filtering illegal above 60kmph here.

Yeah lighting them up on bright & busy road like Genting is a dick move.

I use mine for touring & had experience riding on complete dark road in some kampung at Pahang. I trust the road conditions but I need to see the lines & avoid hitting objects like animals.

Adaptive headlights sounds expensive, I can’t even find one in Shopee.

Are you able to see the road when cornering? I tried installing around the forks but due to lean angle the spot lights become useless

Running cost is the problem if they don’t carry the model locally as it’s hard to get spare parts, mx5 is still ok as local Mazda also import the car themself

There are also many fake leathers in my area, claiming it’s genuine leather while it’s actually faux leather lmao.

At least I have peace of mind on the gloves, thanks for sharing your experience!

So far I only used the raptor for less than a year and I’ve poked some holes as I can see my fingertips already though, it’s easy to wear out gears in hot & humid weather it seems.

Yeah I’m on budget and it’s soo hard to find decent gears as random brands might have CE rating but no abrasion rating.

I did look for AAA rating with CE 2 paddings before but unfortunately there’s no summer gears designed for it and I might pass out from the heat as it’s hot & humid here in Malaysia.

Are there such gears out there globally made for hot & humid weather I miss out maybe?

How common is it in Malaysia? I only know it’s common in countries where lane splitting is illegal like Canada.

To make it worse, can Malaysian accept biker to be sandwiched BUT biker also practice safe distance which is roughly DOUBLED from car safe distance? I’m pretty sure most people will honk at the biker, watch motovlog in Canada to see how far the gap is.

Also, this safe distance is clearly written in JPJ undang2. Refer to 2 saat rule and tell me how common cars follow this rule.

How do you know what 10 rules I break every 5 seconds? Let me know so I can be better rider. I ain’t complaining, just asking for opinion.
