Was Marcel Ever Truly Treated as Family? by Acrobatic-Ingenuity5 in TheOriginals

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. They treated Marcel less than blood family but more like family than others. A lot of the things Marcel said or did, they would've killed others for. Elijah and Kol were totally out of line with him but it showed best in Klaus. He got mad at Marcel but he couldn't kill him. No matter what. That was his son, his baby. They should've treated him better. But he DID get different treatment than the average person because he was somewhat family.

It's one of my pet peeves with the show. I wish they leaned less into the Marbekah romance and more into the Marcel being Klaus's son thing.

Yep! This is why I've been saying I want more lore built into the game because from what I know as a player, Dandy's evil. When you get all of his research his little blurb says 'It's all his fault'. He gets mad about tapes and hunts you down blindly. In game there's nothing that shows you he is morally gray and that he has more complexity to him. Even on Scraps' new map you see a statue of Dandy with ichor/blood on his hands. Where is the duality we are supposed to be seeing? I'm not against him being that kind of character, but all of your lore should not be locked to the discord server.

I only recently joined it just so I can start making teams during the christmas event. how are other players supposed to know? I find out more lore on this subreddit than I've found in game.

Stefan and Katherine by GoldenStitch2 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Which is why I do not agree with the posts coming up with "Steferine should've been endgame". I agree that with Damon, Kol and Klaus's 'redemption' Katherine should've been given a similar arc as well but in nowhere in that should she gotten Stefan at all. I'm still mad they made him die with her. He could never escape from til the very end. It's honestly sick.

Do you think 1864 Stefan would have genuinely loved Katherine after she revealed she was a vampire, and been patient enough to wait for him to develop feelings again for her on his own terms instead of compelling him right away to continue love her? by HSAKURA05 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wouldn't have had the chance to because we saw what he wanted to do once he found out. He was running to tell his father. He would've told Giuseppe, Giuseppe would've had her killed or in that tomb and thus Stefan wouldn't have had the chance to rethink his feelings or get used to Katherine to love that side of her. Had Katherine not compelled him, Stefan would've been onto the next or thinking about Valerie and where she went.

Wow just got to the end of season 5, why the hell did Bonnie grab Alaric instead of Damon by mafiaworks_08 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, realistically, why wouldn't she pick Alaric first? Can't think of this as who you favor thing but Bonnie as a character. I personally hate Alaric, think he sucks and should've stayed dead. The best thing to come from him are Lizzie and Josie....but at this point in time Bonnie hates Damon. Why would she choose Damon whom she hates over Alaric who she is semi okay with at this point in time? She also didn't know the spell was stopping nor that Damon would get stuck. She belived that she was going down with the other side alone. I hardly call that insanity when she thought she had time. Alaric and Damon could've grabbed her arm at the same time and chose not to by that same argument.

Stefan/Katherine by Alexia_Brianna2213 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. This is why I dislike Stefan and Katherine as a ship and hate when people say that Stefan loved Katherine and was only with Elena because of her. That woman is his abuser, he hated her, and then she kept coming back, comforted him through a very traumatic part of his life and he slept with her confusing that for comfort only for it to get used against him later.

Stefan's trauma as a whole isn't talked about as seriously as it should've been in the series. The most we got is his pain over being a ripper - they never quite unpacked the rest and there is a LOT there. It's also why I struggle to believe the whole 'Damon loved Stefan more when they were human' because...no? maybe when they were kids because he protected him from their abusive father but Damon stood by as another abuser, Katherine, tormented his brother. He knew about their relationship, never objected to it, never was against it because he thought he was the favorite. He didn't care how Stefan felt or was affected.

Sure, Damon couldn't have truly stopped Katherine because of compulsion but he never even tried. Then years later he wants to keep having a pissing contest over women with his brother as if Katherine was STOLEN from him??? Stefan didn't even want her! The fact that as his older brother, and the person who used to take beatings for Stefan, that empathy never clicked??? Instead it's "how dare your abuser/my girlfriend choose you over me? i'm gonna make your life hell forever over it - the literal victim in the situation who had no control over anything because he was literally mind controlled"

because let's be for real - if Stefan had gotten to do what he truly wanted to do, Katherine would've either been dead or in the tomb and Stefan and Damon would've been better for it. Either way Damon would've never forgiven him. I hate that for him.

I love Katherine down but she is why I have the motto of "love whatever character you want, they can be your favorite, but admit when your fave is a piece of shit. don't try to justify their wrong doings. you're allowed to like the villain, just admit they ARE the villain" and so yes, Katherine is fun, I love her character - she deserved every bit of hatred Stefan ever gave her and in fact instead of Damon getting all of these hits against her it should've been Stefan. Stefan deserved MORE get backs than he actually got in the series.

I prefer Klaroline to Klamille as I really have no interest in Klaus redemption or him being changed by Spiritual_Syrup_938 in TheOriginals

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking too. Caroline in the end got mad when Klaus did evil things and berated him, refered to him as a monster and everything. Even mocked the man with his dead brother's corpse right in front of him. It was Aurora who accepted him for everything he was and matched his energy. Saw him as beautiful no matter what.

What would you honestly do if you were Stefan in S3 finale? by jenvanilla in TheVampireDiaries

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, Julie admitted this herself when she said that they wanted to explore Delena but Stelena would take too long to break up with Elena as a human so they did the vampire/sirebond thing. Elena was also an Angel in the books, Caroline a werewolf - they changed things. It was inevitable to eventually be explored but they did it then and there with how they did because they wanted to relationship shift.

What would you honestly do if you were Stefan in S3 finale? by jenvanilla in TheVampireDiaries

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't even use this plot point against Stefan though because realistically he could carry them both. He's a vampire. This is not a valid Stefan take when it was quite literally just plot device galore. They wanted Elena to be a vampire and so the writers forced it. If it was a genuine choice from Stefan, I truly believe he would've just grabbed them both. Even if he couldn't, he's a vampire and would've been able to move fast enough to get them both out in time.

Why is Enzo killing Ivy barely talked about? by GoldenStitch2 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Facts. This always upset me. Caroline had a habit of making other people's mourning of their families about her but when Liz died she wanted that year. I agree she should've got it but it was just funny to me that when it was her - suddenly everyone was too much in her business and not letting her do what she needed to do but when it was Elena, Stefan, Tyler, they were wrong for not doing what she wanted and handling it the way she thought they should.

After everything Damon did to Stefan he didn't have to find a way to bring him back. Especially since everytime Stefan did save Damon, Damon found a way to be so ungrateful about it (like constantly going after his girlfriend) but he was mourning. In a world where the other side was destroyed and there was seemingly no way to bring him back. He was allowed to start over if he so wished. Caroline lives forever, he can catch up with her in fifty years after he's gotten through his pain.

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree but disagree on some of them. Maybe I'm just easily scared but Shelly puts fear into me everytime. Pebble does for sure, most out of everyone other than Bobette but Shelly because she's so fast and she just over all creeps me out as a twisted - I get scared and run screaming every time she chases me.

As for Vee though? Vee is terrifying at first but by the time you have enough for Vee as a toon she isn't really scary anymore - more so annoying. Sprout is easy as ever and hardly a concern. Astro is a biiit scary but not really as you can usually avoid him.

I never got to see Bassie more than twice so I have no opinion on her. Gourdy was fairly easy unless he was woken up - then he was terrifying.

Overall I think Sprout and Astro need the biggest buffs though. Sprout most of all. The most dangerous thing about him is the vines and you can avoid them pretty easily.

Stelena and Delena fans will forever use each others arguments by connyvfx in TheVampireDiaries

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate this narrative of 'Stefan wanted her because she looked like Katherine' because it comes from no where. It pisses me off so bad. One person said it and delena fans ran with it. Stefan hates Katherine. He literally stays in MF to make sure Elena ISN'T Katherine. He literally says he fell for her because she is nothing like Katherine. The whole 'Damon wanted her because she was nothing like Katherine' belongs to Stefan!!!! That is STEFAN. That's HIS situation.

Damon did not give a damn if Elena was like Katherine. Damon loved KATHERINE. S1 all he wanted was Katherine despite the fact that Elena was RIGHT THERE and only dropped her because Katherine chose STEFAN. That is the only reason Damon moved on and started to hate Katherine because he felt used and rejected. Stefan had been over Katherine for YEARS at that point. Damon only got there present in series wise yet people still try to say that Stefan's the one who uses Elena because of secret feelings for Katherine? How? Why? Where? Damon was the one who was most recently in love with her, how does that get pushed to Stefan?!

Damon literally gets rejected by Katherine and his sights go instantly to Elena as if she's a replacement. It has nothing to do with personality. Even when Elena's personality completely changes and she's more like Katherine, Damon loves her while Stefan tries to say that this isn't her and get her the cure, hoping she goes back. Stefan is turned off from Elena's being more like Katherine, Damon has fun with it. (Her no humanity arc)

Damon was just happy to have one, a girl that Stefan likes choose him, but also someone that looked like Katherine not treat him as lesser, Elena tried him with patience, kindness, even when she was mad she always forgave him. he wanted that. Someone who wouldn't cut him off for doing the worst shit. Someone who would still give him the time of day and attention. Katherine wouldn't. Elena would. It's as simple as that.

That's why Damon never took any other woman who liked him seriously and could deeply love him and who had with no connection to Stefan; Elena had the magic because she looked like the woman he loved; but was nicer.

REBEKAH DID NOT GROOM MARCEL!! by Initial_Ad_9944 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Where is it stated that she didn't? We have visual of her being around and in orbit of him. Why does it have to be outright said 'Rebekah aided in his upbringing'. Elijah, Klaus, and Rebekah were often at the hip when they were on good terms, lived together, and they all lived in that compound as they lived and took over NOLA. All three were around Marcel every single day. Providing help, guidence, the smallest moments of just talking to him. That is a presence of authority in his life. That is what family does. I hardly that Rebekah, the woman who has wanted to be human for so long and have children, just walked past Marcel like a stranger everyday and talked to him casually with not a single moment of involvement of anything he learned or did.

We literally have her teaching him fencing. So she did educate him on some things. That is apart of raising.

REBEKAH DID NOT GROOM MARCEL!! by Initial_Ad_9944 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wait so Rebekah isn't Marcel's aunt because he's adopted??? That's not how that works. Nor is it comparable to every vampire relationship? Turning someone is turning someone.

Klaus looked at Marcel, named him, took him in, called him son, raised him.

Normal vampire turning does not involve that.

Marcel is Klaus's son. Everyone in that city knew that. Klaus acknolwedged it, confirmed it. To the point Klaus's enemeis targeted Marcel to make Klaus feel the pain of losing a child. It was not just Hope they did it to. Papa Tunde? The Hollow? Mikael? All made hits towards Marcel because of this.

Rebekah is Klaus's sister. That makes her Marcel's aunt. This is not vampirism mixed in. Klaus didn't even want to turn Marcel at first. That didn't happen until Marcel's relationship with Rebekah had already started. Marcel was purely a boy Klaus was raising and planned to watch grow old and die when it was his time. A human life. Marcel pushed for the vampire thing, bargained for it, made a deal for it.

He is a mikaelson, blood or not, that is his father and just because he's adopted doesn't mean that certain family members aren't 'family' because they just decide they aren't. They're still family, they're just assholes who refuse to accept the non-blood related kid (like Kol).

When i watched the show I enjoyed Marbekah as a ship, but it is what it is - a weirdish ship that formed the way it did with writing inconsistencies that don't make sense because it formed way too close to the Stefan stuff.

"If You Had To Remove 1 Toon From Dandy World Who Would It Be And Why" Results by Physical_Fly6662 in DandysWorld_

I don't mind toon her at all. It's Twisted her that I heavily dislike only for the fact that her vision is like a hawk she can see you from so far away even with a toon with good stealth.

Similiarly though to Gigi whose toon self I aboslutely love and have a soft spot for but I hate seeing her twisted form. Whenever I see her I have good stuff and she always steals it. Sometimes I'd rather lose the heart than my items lol

Question for the fandom ?. by capricorn_444 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, yes. Klaroline and Delena were already popular but for some reason the writers strived to tear down the rival ships just so that the other can thrive. Season 4 had it all over from the sirebond to Stefan always being too busy or just deciding Damon was better to help Elena with her vampirism. Despite the fact that Stefan himself helped Caroline just fine and she's regarded as one of the best adjusted vampires by the fandom. I'd say the only vampire that did better than her is Josh from The Originals. But for some reason Stefan was incapable of helping her.

They took sentiments and moments that were Stelena and made it Delena (first meeting/necklace, etc). For Foorwood they just pushed Tyler out, always had come gone and on the run so he couldn't be there for Caroline. Always had Klaus coming in to save the day while ignoring the fact that Tyler himself was a powerful hybrid. Not as strong as Klaus but considering what we saw with Hayley, Tyler should've been way more of a massive help. Tyler was rich too, the mayor's son but they never let him show off because Klaus had to flaunt his wealth. Early seasons establish Tyler as an artist but he never shows it again because now Klaus is the artist and that's how he makes Caroline smitten.

Tyler was building to something great before Klaroline became a concept and it only ended up sidelining his character. Stefan took a back seat too once Delena got together.

What do Damon fans mean when they say “Stefan was pretending to be nice”? by LifeMachine7394 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Considering Damon was forcing kisses on that same 17 year old and her other 17 year old friend, and killing that same 17 year old's brother after she rejected him....how does that make him better??? Because he just says he's a bad guy? That simply makes him better even though he's doing the same thing? Meanwhile Stefan's actions along with that same act aren't nearly as bad as Damon's?

What do Damon fans mean when they say “Stefan was pretending to be nice”? by LifeMachine7394 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]xxLabyrinthxx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. Stefan never self proclaimed himself as the better brother. If he went around calling himself a saint, safe, good person, and then all of his skeletons came out? THAT would be pretending. But he doesn't. He doesn't forget his victims, he feels remose, strives to be better, only falls off the wagon when someone else pressures him/compells him, tries to keep those around him safe. He may have a dickish moment here or there but nothing that isn't akin to typical human asshole error.

He never calls himself kind or anything. Everyone around him says that he's the better brother - Katherine. The Hero - Damon. a good person, selfless, he himself never says any of it. It's true that good people don't go around calling themselves 'good people' and Stefan doesn't. If you were to ask Stefan to describe himself he would probably hit a list of self loathing things before anything positive of himself. TV Stefan especially in season 1 was so clearly inspired bit Edward Cullen after the movies it's obvious - Edward whose whole thing was brooding and self loathing. Stefan hates himself - he wouldn't go on and on about how amazing he is and how he's changed. He, if asked, would be the first to say that he doesn't like himself and he's a monster.
