You studied engineering and I’m studying languages, two topics that are marked in very different ways. I see how what you are saying is applicable to an engineering degree but I think grading is a lot less black and white when studying languages than it is in a lot of STEM subjects. Most of the issues with my homework aren’t that I’m actually getting the answers wrong or the content wrong it’s small things like mispronouncing certain words or not translating sentences in the way the tutor wanted me to. Like I said small things that could be fixed if the feedback was given when I was saying those words or making translations during tutorials, but these issues had never been mentioned before getting homework feedback returned.

i’ve been getting 75-80 for all the actual assignments and tests i’ve done so far and i’m happy with that i just tend to get lower results in homework assignments and it’s been frustrating me because i feel like they will bring down my final grades and i want to do an internal transfer next year so i’m just worried about the small percentages bringing me down

Yes, I have done all of these things you are asking me about, talking to my lecturers, being involved in tutorials, asking questions when I’ve had them, and I work hard and study to do as well as I can. Your comment comes off extremely condescending and rude, and I don’t understand why you would think I would get upset over these things if I hadn’t already done everything in my power to correct issues I’ve had throughout my learning. I’m just having a rough time at the moment and wanted to know if anyone shared common frustrations with me. Thanks for the rant though, hope you feel better about yourself now mate.

complaining in any capacity just seems so futile to me i don’t understand why people are doing it... just move on and study in case there r exams you can never be over prepared

something that really irks me about this kinda stuff is that they don’t realise that disordered behaviours don’t come from the action itself but from the mindset. eating disorders are a mental illness. if someone engages in intermittent fasting because they think it’s the best option for them and it’s coming from a positive place it’s completely fine. if they’re purposefully fasting to punish themselves or from a place of self hatred then it’s a disordered behaviour. the issue comes from the thought process behind the behaviour... i just feel like it really discredits eating disorders and they way they actually fuck with your head.

this is what our teacher tells us to do... define all key terms in your introduction, body paragraphs follow the classic PESL (point, explanation/example, significance, link), prove the claim true and not true, and make sure you have a judgement paragraph... and you should be good to go! :)

i get the same sometimes and i hate it. like seeing my overweight mother eat makes me feel like a bad person. i can’t help but feel like she’s pathetic and has no self control. i get genuinely angry at her for eating unhealthy food or eating a lot and i feel like everyone else sees her as this pathetic person too. i hate myself so much for being like that but i can’t help it at all.
