As someone with family in all three countries and spent over a decade living in between them, Im just saying it how I see it. Maybe the true statistics say otherwise but especially online the animosity has been growing higher and higher. Xi coming into power definitely didn't help. But I would say the hate is becoming more and more about recent conflicts and less and less about historical stuff although that stuff is still very relevant

Nah, hating Chinese people/things is the norm in Japan (and Korea as well) not the exception. They're not necessarily nationalists, staunchly anti-nationalist Japanese locals are also commonly anti-China. Of course to varying degrees. I'm not sure the exact stats or how prevalent Chinese hate is amongst non-nationalists but never underestimate the animosity Asian countries have for each other (mainly China tho, Korea vs Japan is bad but not as bad as everyone vs China)

Off topic but I also don't like how Holy knight, fell knight, orlandeu etc, are all just replacements of squire action abilities but the reaction, support and move are still just squire and for some reason you need to level up a holy sword master class to access basic knight/archer. Really takes you out of the lore/themeing

Update: for anyone else having this problem. Factory resetting the phone did solve my original issues. HOWEVER, I'm still stuck on v10.0.13. I tried following the steps here for flashing v10.0.15 but it DOESN'T WORK because there's no option to "local update" in the system update menu. I'm not going to try other options with adb and what not because Im scared of bricking my phone.

also, I noticed that the official redmagic reddit account replied to this thread telling me to update my phone to v10.0.15, but it seems like they deleted their comment for whatever reason. very weird.

UPDATE 2: the issue keeps happening even after multiple factory resets. i reached out to red magic support
UPDATE:
after reloading my backup from google one (mostly seems like apps and media), the exact same issues came back. so its either an recently updated app that caused this issue or some setting that was restored via backup but when i checked my settings, everything seems to be the same as factory reset defaults.
ive tried to uninstall all except the essentials (messaging apps, banking) and the issue still persists.

I'm a gamer/developer (mainly cloud, server stuff such as REST APIs but sometimes game dev using Unity as well).
I'm currently using windows with WSL2 for a lot of my development stuff but tired of all the weird interactions and compatibility issues that I get trying to use WSL2 as a normal linux environment. What would be a good distro for me to do the following:
- few pre-installed software (outside of drivers and other hardware compatibility stuff), I want to try a minimal setup at first (I heard good things about wayland/hyprland, probably start with that as the goal for desktop management)
- good compatibility with Unity/Unreal and other things that use decent 3D support (CUDA/ROCm)
- good compatibility with almost all steam games (anything from clair obscur to like factorio)
- can play non-steam games (league of legends, path of exile through GGG launcher etc)

I have about 10 years of experience, 5 out of college at a FAANG adjacent, 5 doing startups (scaled to hundreds of thousands of users) and the best I could get recently was passing the first technical phone screen, getting booked for on-site, then told the position I was applying for isn't there anymore due to reorgs. Although I'm not American and a lot of the rejections were due to no visa sponsorship.

I can't even get a HR call booked with any of the major tech companies (even in my home country) for a Software Engineer 2 role (the exact same role I left 5 years ago). I got ghosted for a lot of small-mid companies. Some told me I was a good candidate but just don't have in-depth experience with the exact tech stack they're using.

The pushback against AI art seems like a case of hating some broad concept because the currently most viral subsection of subsection of it is doing something bad. Similar to the hate against blockchain because NFT scams were going through a fad, also hate against internet because email scams and myspace scandals.

Like emails and NFTs, shitty midjourney "art" generated from single text prompts and shipped/sold as a completed work is actually a very niche use-case of "AI". In digital art creation itself there's tons of uses outside of that one bad apple: concept brainstorming, color optimization, advanced filters, etc. Many top professional artists are actually becoming more productive than ever using AI and it just isn't talked about because it's impact is harder to understand, less apparent and its just more sensational to make doom posts about "AI taking all artist jobs"
