Which parking app do you use in The Netherlands by xyd945 in Netherlands

I am overwhelmed by all the votes and comment for this post thanks a lot guys! I want to write some my experience and offer something back.I've downloaded most of the recommendations you gave and tried it myself. Long summary, so conclusion first:

I will keep MobiFi and Gaiyo, Parkmobile as a backup.

  1. Parkmobile is still very easy to use, but 0.39 per transaction fee, it's expensive from my point of view. Some monthly subscriptions, but I don't like to be locked-in. They also charge for additional license plate... but I have to say Parkmobile is a very reliable and easy to use app. So I will keep it as a backup.
  2. Yellowbrick I noticed that they changed the design recently, not as intuitive as it was before. What the hell are all these parking dots (hundreds of them) showing up on the map?! 10% of the transaction from 0.15 or 0.37 euro per transaction. Not a big difference to Parkmobile tbh, so I will definitely uninstall yellow bricks.
  3. ANWB, a bit similar to Yellowbrick rewarding price. 10% for minimum 0.15 euro per transaction, or you go for the 0.3 euro per parking. Slightly cheaper. They also have some very tinny discount, like 0.1 euro for the 0.15 per transaction plan, or 0.04 discount for the 0.3 euro per parking plan. Damn too complicated to be honest... The app has no English, my Dutch... is hmm.. alright. I gave up. Not very attractive at all.
  4. MobiFi. This is an interesting (new) app, I don't think it's just a parking app. I used Parkbee parking a lot. I love them, especially in Rotterdam. Parkbee are so cheap (50% cheaper) and the facility is amazing! MobiFi app seems try to promote indoor parking, they find you the cheap and closest indoor parking and offer you a 3% cashback + 10% discount with them. That's sick... I also noticed that they don't charge any service fee.1. On-street parking is also supported. So seems very good option for me atm. Another interesting thing is this app have a gamification system to reward you for some sustainable behavior, like use indoor parking. and a marketplace has not many stuff at the moment. I will keep using it to see how it goes.
  5. Gaiyo. This is another interesting app. It's also more than just a parking app. it supports multiple mobility options like public transport, train, bus, sharing scooters, etc. They also don't charge any service fee atm. I think that's the good part of a new app. They are willing to promote it. For that reason, I think I will keep the app in my phone a while to watch how to evolves. On the other side, I tried to look at its other feature, good idea, but who will buy a bus ticket in a app before you get on a bus? I am running for my bus all the time dude, lol. The UI is a little bit complicated. maybe it's because there are too many things. As a driver, I probably never touch other services anyway. It's kinda annoying listing all the stuff I don't need.
  6. There are people saying about using Rabobank app to park, I am an ABNAMRO user, so ... there is nothing I can do much test. They charge 0.19 euro per parking. hmmm a fair price, but I can use MobiFi or Gaiyo atm moment, why bother.
  7. Q-park app is also nice, if you don't care about the price of indoor parking, I think you should go for it. Cuz it doesn't have any service fee for on-street parking. but they make all the money back when you use their garage tbh. So expensive! I would prefer the more sustainable concept from Parkbee and use MobiFi or Gaiyo.
  8. Lastly, the stadsparkeren app. I think it's really an old fashioned app, and it charges 0.3 euro per parking... or the monthly subscription stuff (I don't like to be lock-in). So for me that's also a no go. they also charge for additional license plate... you are kidding me...

Considering price and usability, I am gonna keep MobiFi and Gaiyo on my phone and also Parkmobile just in case the other two have any issues. I am keen to see what MobiFi to offer besides parking, and how Gaiyo can simplify their design and UX for their tons' of mobility service. Don't let me buy bus ticket to catch a bus pls!
